Pat Boone Joins The ASSISTNEWS-A-THON And Needs You To Spread The Word!
By Dan Wooding, Founder of ASSIST News Service

They
are friends such as Operation Mobilization Founder, George Verwer, who
presented yesterday’s message, Pat Boone, Jerry B. Jenkins, Ted Baehr,
Stan Jeter and Gary Lane (both of CBN), and others, who will tell you
why ASSIST News is an important news source for them. Also during this
week, you and your friends, can partner with us.
Your
support empowers us to bring news stories from a Christian perspective
and vital updates on the persecuted church. These are stories you will
often not see anywhere else! Your gift of $25 or more per month, or as a
one-off gift, will help us in our goal of raising $25,000 to keep this
vital news service free to all our subscribers. (See details below for
how you can support ASSIST today).

Tuesday,
June 19, 2001, was the worst day in the lives of myself and my wife,
Shirley, when I discovered that our eldest grandson, Ryan Corbin, then
25 years old, had fallen through a skylight on the roof of the condo
where he was living in Southern California, and came extremely close to
losing his life.
His
skull was crushed as he fell three floors to a cement floor below. Many
thought Ryan would never awaken from the deep coma of his mind. And
then, if he did, there was the dreaded fear that he would survive at
best in a vegetative state.
But
then, Dan Wooding, and his ASSIST News Service (ANS), and many others,
including veteran TV host, Larry King, launched a prayer campaign for
Ryan, whose mother is Lindy Boone Michaelis, one of our four Boone
daughters, and slowly but surely he has been making an astonishing
recovery.
It
was then that I discovered the pulling power of the ASSIST News
Service, after thousands of Christians around the world read Dan
Wooding’s stories on ANS and began praying for Ryan.
I
am so pleased to tell you that Ryan continues to get better and Shirley
and I regularly visit him. He’s investigating a different kind of brain
therapy to try to help him regain what was lost in that accident all
those years.
So
now, having seen at first-hand, the dedicated work of Dan and his
unique ASSIST News Service team of writers, I have no hesitation in
asking you to prayerfully consider giving a generous donation to the
ministry.
How you can give:
It’s really quite simple. Just go to www.assistnews.net and
then scroll to where it says DONATE TO ASSIST NEWS, and then enter the
amount you wish to give to keep this amazing news service going. If you
prefer a check, just make it out to ASSIST and then mail it to PO Box
609, Lake Forest, CA 92609, USA.
Remember, in the US, all of your gifts are tax-deductible.
Thank
you for reading my “Friendly Persuasion” for you to dig deep, so that
ANS can go on providing you with these powerful stories about our
brothers and sisters around the world who are paying a terrible price
for their faith – and thank you also for praying for my grandson, Ryan
Corbin. Your prayers are being answered.

Note
from Dan Wooding: I would like to thank Pat Boone for his kind words
and support. Pat has been a shining light in Hollywood for so many years
now and if you would like to know more about his incredible career,
