Pray for Aimaq, Firozkohi of Afghanistan

Aimaq, Firozkohi of Afghanistan
"Aimaq" means "tribal people". The Firozkohi Aimaq are one of the semi-nomadic tribes. The tribes were first identified in the 16th and 17th centuries, when the groups were unified by chiefs coming from outside the area. Tribalism is strong among all Aimaq groups. For example, feuds tend to be settled by tribal rather than by government authorities. The traditional concept of honor and shame, which is very important in tribal law, is still stronger than Islamic or state law. The Aimaq, in sharp contrast with other societies in rural Afghanistan, accord women high status.

Ministry Obstacles
Afghanistan is not hospitable to any kind of Christian witness.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to care genuinely about the physical and material needs of the Aimaq people, finding opportunities to assist them with educational needs, health care needs, and so forth.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are almost no followers of Christ among the Aimaq tribes of Afghanistan. However, pray for those the Lord will soon call to Himself. Pray they will be physically protected from harm, and also will not be unduly fearful. Pray they will learn to live fully in the power of the Lord's Spirit, demonstrating holy and joyful lives.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Aimaq tribes to increasingly desire to know the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Pray for peace in Afghanistan.

Scripture Focus
"I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring My salvation to the ends of the earth." Isaiah 49:6

Pray for Banjara, Muslim of India

Banjara, Muslim of India
The Banjara were traditionally a nomadic community, but today they more commonly are settled and work in agricultural production. They believe that they were originally Hindu and were forcibly converted to Islam. They are non-vegetarians who eat beef. The Muslim Banjara have twelve clans. They maintain cordial relations with neighboring communities and share water sources with them. They belong to the Sunni sect of Islam.

Ministry Obstacles
To follow Jesus is to risk upsetting community harmony, and to risk losing family and friends.

Outreach Ideas
Christian workers need to build bridges of friendship and trust with the Banjara. Genuinely caring for material and physical needs is a big step in this direction.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are probably no present followers of Jesus among the Muslim Banjara community, but pray for those the Lord will soon call to Himself. Pray they will have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness, living as children of light. Pray for materials to help them grow properly, such as recorded or written Scripture, and Gospel films.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Banjara community to be able to adequately care for their families, and for widows, orphans, and elderly people to have the care and protection needed.

Brahui, Kur Galli of Pakistan

Brahui, Kur Galli of Pakistan
The Brahui overthrew a dynasty of Hindu kings and rose to power in the 1600s. Brahui can be distinguished from their Pushtun and Baluchi neighbors by their Dravidian language, called Brahuidi. The number of Brahui nomads has consistently declined over the past hundred years, and today there are many fully-settled villages dependent on underground water irrigation. Divorce is rare among the Brahui. The ideal family consists of married sons who live with their parents. Most Brahui are Sunni Muslims, and are deeply rooted in their faith.

Ministry Obstacles
There is much spiritual darkness to overcome, in Pakistan.

Outreach Ideas
Much sustained, focused prayer is needed for all the peoples of Pakistan. Prayer to prepare hearts, and prayer to overcome the darkness with the light of Christ's Gospel.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are few if any Brahui who know and follow Jesus Christ. But pray for those that the Lord will soon call to Himself. Pray they will have Scripture available, as well as other resources to help them grow. Pray for teachers, also. These believers will need outside prayer support.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Brahui people to be able to live in a peaceful Pakistan. Pray also they will have the light of the Gospel of Christ widely and freely available, overcoming the darkness that has prevailed for so long in Pakistan.

Luoluopo, Southeastern of China

Luoluopo, Southeastern of China
The Luoluopo have been living in southern China for more than 500 years. When a Luoluopo dies, his or her relatives organize a "dance of the spirits." They believe this dance will help the soul find its way back to the resting place of its ancestors. The Luoluopo are a very superstitious people. In addition to their intricate system of ancestor worship, the Lolo believe in two gods who created the world, Mit Do and Ket Do. The Southeastern Luoluopo are one of the most neglected and Gospel-starved peoples in the region.

Ministry Obstacles
A complete absence of Christians, with no history of Christianity, is an obstacle to the Gospel, but isn't insurmountable.

Outreach Ideas
Telling these people stories from Scripture would be a good way to communicate. Gospel films and recordings are needed, as well. Pray for workers.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Although there likely are no followers of Jesus among the Luoluopo today, pray for those the Lord will soon lead to Himself. Pray they will be sent teachers and pastors to help them become established in the faith. Pray they will be completely delivered from their superstitious past.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Luoluopo of China and Vietnam to find true life in Jesus Christ, that they be set free from the bondage of superstition and fear. Pray they will be sent mature Christians to share the message of Christ with them in a form they can understand.

pRAY FOR Kluet of Indonesia

Kluet of Indonesia
The Kluet area of Aceh province is very fertile, and most Kluet make their living from farming. They have a strong sense of ethnic identity, and, therefore, they do not spread out very far from each other. They find it difficult to mix with other people groups, and as a result, their culture is rather closed to outsiders. Most Kluet are followers of Islam. However, traditional animistic beliefs have not totally disappeared and often have significant impact. Many are afraid of supernatural ghosts. Magic talismans are used so that evil spirits will not hurt them.

Ministry Obstacles
The Kluet people live in Aceh province, a region of strong resistance to the good news of Jesus Christ.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to find ways to help the Kluet people with their medical needs and help them improve their farming methods, as well as share the love of Christ as opportunity offers itself.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the few followers of Jesus among the Kluet people, and the additional believers that will soon join them. Pray they will not waver in their faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross. Pray they in all things will grow up into Him who is the Head, Christ.

Pray for the entire people group
This people group does not place much value on education. Modern agricultural tools and methods would help keep the Kluet from feeling left behind and threatened by the newcomers moving to their homeland. Medical assistance is strongly needed.

Scripture Focus

Pray for Ad Dharmi of India

Ad Dharmi of India
The Ad Dharmi's primary occupation is tanning hides, and some are also engaged in leatherwork and related industries. There are no restrictions on their accepting or exchanging water and food from and with the neighboring communities. They visit the same religious places, share common sources of water and also take part in festivals along with other communities. Their literacy rate, according to the 1981 census, was 40 per cent.

Ministry Obstacles
A low literacy rate can hinder the coming of the Gospel if it comes only in written form.

Outreach Ideas
The Ad Dharmi need to hear the Gospel in oral forms and in written forms. Gospel films and recordings may be very helpful.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There may be no followers of Jesus among the Ad Dharmi community at present, but pray for those the Lord will soon lead to Himself. Pray they will understand fully the way of salvation, and be zealous to know and follow the Lord.

Pray for Tai Dam, Black Tai of Vietnam

Tai Dam, Black Tai of Vietnam
The Tai groups of Vietnam are only distantly related to the Tai people of Thailand. The Black Tai, primarily of Thailand, also live in northern Vietnam. They originated in southern China, but gradually migrated to southeast Asia. They are one of the few Tai groups never to have embraced Buddhism, but are animists. They believe that non-human objects have spirits, and that people have multiple souls.

Ministry Obstacles
The animistic worldview of these people presents an obstacle to understanding the God of Scripture and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

Outreach Ideas
Chinese and Vietnamese believers may be able to disciple the existing Black Tai believers, equipping them to reach their own people.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are a few believers among the Black Tai. Pray they will live holy lifestyles, united around Truth.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Black Tai to have their eyes opened to the presence of their creator God, who loves them and sent his Son to die for them.

Pray for Palaung, Silver, Pale of Myanmar (Burma)

Palaung, Silver, Pale of Myanmar (Burma)
The Palaung are one of Myanmar's most ancient indigenous peoples. They have a 40-plus year history of armed resistance to the government through the Palaung State Liberation Army. Their women are very distinct in their dress, including a bright red skirt, worn like a sarong. Like many others in Myanmar and Thailand who are nominally Buddhist, the Palaung still practice various forms of Animist ritual from their religious past. The most famous such ritual is known as "nat worship." Nats are believed to be the spirits of otherwise inanimate objects.

Ministry Obstacles
Accurately communicating the Gospel of Christ is always a challenge. Foreign words and foreign concepts are difficult to grasp.

Outreach Ideas
Oral methods of communicating will be helpful. Stories from Scripture can be told, and Gospel films and recordings will be useful.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the few followers of Jesus among the Silver Palaung, that they will faithfully fellowship together, spurring one another on to love and good deeds. Pray they will be fully delivered from worshipping nature instead of the Creator.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Palaung people will establish peace with their government, and be able to raise their families in safety.

Pray for Sargara of India

Sargara of India
The Sargara are a landless community. Their traditional and present-day occupation is splitting and selling wood. Those who breach community norms are fined and ostracized. They profess Hinduism, and Chammunda and Ambajee are their family deities. Their regional deities are Hanumanjee, Shankar, Mahakali and Ramdevjee. The Sargara traditionally do not take food and water from the lower scheduled castes, and food and water from the Sargara are not accepted by the upper castes.

Ministry Obstacles
To follow Jesus is to breach community norms, bringing significant ostracism.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to help the Sargara people with physical and material needs, as well as telling them of Jesus.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There likely isn't a single follower of Jesus among the Sargara community today, but pray for those the Lord will soon lead to Himself. Pray they will fully grasp the significance of Jesus' sacrificial death, and will trust Him fully for both forgiveness of sin and power to live life. Pray they will have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Sargara community will not find satisfaction in the worship of created things, but will be given a hunger to worship the Creator.

Pray for Koli of India

Koli of India
There is historical evidence to show the rise of Koli chieftains from the fifteenth century onwards, who succeeded in establishing a considerable number of small kingdoms all over Gujarat by the eighteenth century. The traditional and primary occupations of the Koli are fishing, agriculture and masonry. The Koli profess Hinduism and believe in spirits and ghosts. Gomti Mata and Holi Mata are their village and community deities.

Ministry Obstacles
Spiritual darkness must be pierced by the light of the Gospel of Christ. There is always opposition.

Outreach Ideas
Christian workers should pray persistently for the Koli community, accompanied by acts of service.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for those who know and follow Jesus among the Koli community, that they will hunger and thirst for personal righteousness, and will be zealous to know and serve the Lord in holiness.

Pray for the entire people group

Prayer For Ministry In Nepal

Your prayer for the Bible School
My Dear Friend
Church in Nepal Once again, I am glad to come with a very important request to you for the Bible School in Nepal. Thank you all for your prayer and your encouraging email. It is always a joy to me to write you. I guess I am not bothering you.
I am preparing reports of July and August, but thought that it would be nice to send you a request asking your prayer for the Bible School that we would be running from 24 October to 24 November 2011. For the first itme in our Bible College, we will be teaching our Pastors how to write emails, this will be an extra clsses for them and I am excited.
I personally believe that if we are to win Nepal for Jesus we have to equip more leaders for the gospel who can disciple others. We can't do this alone we need partners and friends like you. The world is going away very far from God. These are the days of Elijah. We are not to sit quite. Let us not preach, let us proclaim the gospel. We are not enough, let us train others.
These are the points to remember in your prayer while making petition to God.
Please pray :

* that whoever comes that he or she may be filled with burden for the lost.
* that they would be a person chosen by God so that investment won't go in vain.
* that all students be united one spirit and that they would be an example to show the way to others.
* for me and other teacher as we need to focus on teaching that God will give us strength to endure.
* that God will supply the fund (3000 US Dollar) to give students breakfast and good meals.

Our subjects are :

1. Evangelism,
2. Evangelist and his ministry,
3. Importance of Great Commission and urgency of the gospel,
4. How to pray for the sick and cast out demons?

Church

1. How to safeguard our flocks from false teaching?
2. Five fold ministry in the Church.
3. What Pastor and leaders ought to know?
4. What the Bible Says about Giving?
5. Ministry of the Holy Spirit.
6. Christian Life.

Computer

1. How to use emails?
2. How to make blogs and free websites?

Once again, Rita and I want to thankyou so much for your prayer. We together can do a great work for our God. This world is going away from God let us bring them back.
# How is this email coming to your Inbox, this graphic software is from my website.

Pray for Tuareg, Arabized of Niger

Tuareg, Arabized of Niger
"Arabized" Tuareg are those who have adopted the Arabic language as their own. At least to this extent, they have become a part of Arab culture. Before French colonization, the Tuareg were organized into loose confederations, each consisting of a dozen or so tribes. Following the independence of African countries in the 1960s, Tuareg territory was artificially divided into modern nations: Niger, Mali, Algeria, Libya, and Burkina Faso. Each Tuareg clan is made up of several family groups, led by their collective chiefs.

Ministry Obstacles
The Tuareg tribes have strong tribal identity, and Islam is part of that self-identification.

Outreach Ideas
Perhaps African believers will be burdened to carry the message of Christ to the Tuareg tribes. Pray that tribal animosities will be overcome.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the followers of Jesus that will soon come forth from the Tuareg tribes: that the Lord will send qualified pastors and teachers, that they will be zealous to follow Christ, and they will live holy lives in the power of the Lord's Spirit.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Tuareg tribes of Africa, that they will increasingly desire to know Jesus, the Son of God, deity. Pray He will reveal Himself to them, and will send Christians to help them.

Pray for Sogwo Arig of China

Sogwo Arig of China
The Sogwo Arig are a Mongolian tribe living in the midst of countless small Tibetan clans in one of the most remote locations in the world. Today one of the few remaining Sogwo Arig cultural features is their Mongolian style of yurt. All Sogwo Arig are followers of either Tibetan Buddhism or Bon. They worship at crude sacrificial altars, constructed of yak dung piled about three feet high, upon which they regularly offer animal sacrifices to various gods and demons.

Ministry Obstacles
Evangelists will need to overcome severe weather, rugged terrain, linguistic and cultural barriers, and fierce packs of dogs which the Sogwo Arig have trained to attack strangers.

Outreach Ideas
Much prayer is needed to prepare the hearts of the Sogwo Arig people, accompanied by workers willing to establish friendships with these people. Gospel films and recordings will be helpful tools.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There may be no followers of Jesus among the Sogwo Arig at present, but pray for those the Lord will soon call to Himself. Pray for the availability of Scripture and other resources to help them grow in the faith. Pray they will be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the remotely located Sogwo Arig of China to soon be privileged to hear of Christ and what He will provide. Pray the message comes to them clearly and accurately, in their mother tongue. Pray for several exposures to the gospel message, as it usually requires several in order to understand and believe.

Pray for Groma of China

Groma of China
The Groma are Tibetan Buddhists and little is known about them. They live typical Tibetan lives, herding yaks, sheep, and goats. The men often spend their days drinking and gambling with their friends.

Ministry Obstacles
The Groma live in locations that are difficult to reach, and severe persecution has resulted from the few past attempts to carry the gospel to this area.

Outreach Ideas
Neighboring Sikkim has several churches. Pray that some of these believers will be given a heart for the Groma of Tibet.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for those who will become believers. Pray they will learn to be joyful always, to pray continually, and be thankful in all circumstances.

Pray for receptive ears for the Groma of Tibet, that they will hunger for the righteousness to be found in Christ.

Pray for Malay, East Malaysia of Malaysia

Malay, East Malaysia of Malaysia
Traditionally, the East Malaysia Malay worked as fishermen and traders. Today, many are employed in logging industries, palm-oil plantations, and civil industries. Good manners and respect is very important, especially toward elders. The value of saving face, observed in the community and workplace, is significant. It is unbecoming to cause another person to lose face. They are Muslim, but traces of animistic and Hindu beliefs are still evident and openly discussed.

Ministry Obstacles
These Malay people risk losing face and even offending people to follow Jesus, and are likely to experience other kinds of loss as well.

Outreach Ideas
Christian believers in the main coastal cities may be able to tell the East Malaysia Malay the good news about Christ, teaching them how to be real disciples of Christ.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the very few Christians among the East Malaysia Malay, that they will be zealous to follow Christ with a whole heart, being obedient and living holy lives.

Pray for Baori of India

Baori of India
The Baori are described as a nomadic group, and have been associated with criminal activities in the past. This community has three occupational divisions: the Kapadia, who sell old and used garments; the Magnia, who subsist by begging; and the Chatnia, who beg and eat discarded food. According to their perception, the last group is socially inferior to the other two.

Ministry Obstacles
Because of their lifestyle, it may be difficult for Christian workers to make contact with the Baori people, and establish trust.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to feel genuine compassion and concern for these people, and not be condescending. There may be opportunities to minister to the physical and material needs of the people.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There may be no Christian believers today among the Baori community, but pray the ones that will soon come forth will be properly taught the truths of Scripture. Pray they will learn and practice the ways of Christ.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for these poor people to be able to properly provide for their families. Pray they will make schooling for their children a priority.

Pray for Zhuang, Yongnan of China

Zhuang, Yongnan of China
Because they are primarily engaged in agriculture, the Zhuang are also locally known as the T'u or "People of the Soil." Their homes are usually built on stilts. A newly married woman stays with her parents until after the birth of the first child. Only then does she go to live with her husband in his village. The Zhuang are a superstitious people. They are careful not to offend the spirit world that surrounds them. They believe in the spirits of the water, forest, mountain, village, etc.

Ministry Obstacles
The Yongnan are said to fear offending the spirits. To follow Christ means almost certainly to offend the spirits.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to be genuinely concerned for the material needs of the Yongnan people, as well as for their spiritual needs.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray that the few followers of Jesus among the Yongnan people will have resources made available to help them grow in Christ. They need teachers, and they need films, recordings, and scriptural story tellers.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray that Christian workers will be sent to the Yongnan people, to teach them the ways of Christ.

Scripture Focus
"How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?" Romans 10:14-15

Pray for Ladakhi of China

Ladakhi of China
The Ladakhi are a Tibetan group, but they have major linguistic and historical differences from their counterparts in Tibet. Life for the Ladakhi is hard. Hidden away in the highest mountains in the world, the region sees little rainfall - no more than three inches per year. The Ladakhi share the beliefs of their Tibetan neighbors. Tibetan Buddhism, mixed with images of ferocious demons from the pre-Buddhist Bon religion, has been the stronghold in Ladakh for more than a thousand years. The first Christians to the Ladakhi were probably Nestorian traders in the eighth century.

Ministry Obstacles
The Ladakhi of China live in a very remote region, and there are strong spiritual barriers to overcome.

Outreach Ideas
Pray the Ladakhi believers in India will desire to carry the message of Christ to the Ladakhi of China, and will find ways to do it.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There may be no followers of Jesus among the Ladakhi of China, but there are many Ladakhi believers across the border in India. Pray the Lord will soon draw many Chinese Ladakhi to Himself, and thank Him for those in India.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Ladakhi farmers to be able to produce sufficient foodstuffs to care for their families, and for adequate housing.

Scripture Focus
"Now it will come about that In the last days, The mountain of the house of the Lord will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it." Isaiah 2:2

Pray for Tuareg, Air of Niger

Tuareg, Air of Niger
The Air Tuareg are primarily (not entirely) nomadic shepherds, who move their livestock from one grazing ground to another with the changing of seasons. In direct contrast to Arab custom, the Tuareg men wear veils called tidjelmousts; the women do not wear veils. To show respect, the men always cover their mouths, noses, and foreheads while in the presence of foreigners or their in-laws.

Ministry Obstacles
The nomadic lifestyle of many Turareg make it difficult to establish relationships with them, relationships generally necessary to develop trust for purposes of discipleship.

Outreach Ideas
The Tuareg have a reputation among other Muslims of being lukewarm in their faith. They incorporate animistic practices into their belief system, which may indicate some openness to other faiths. The New Testament is available, as are Gospel recordings.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray the believers among the Tuareg may clothe themselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray that each individual in the Tuareg tribe may soon hear the Gospel message in an understandable and acceptable form. Pray for the Holy Spirit to prepare each heart to understand and to receive the gift of life found in Jesus Christ.

Scripture Focus
"I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations - Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth." Psalm 57:9-11

Pray for Mushunguli of Somalia

Mushunguli of Somalia
The Mushunguli are said to have descended from fugitive slaves who escaped from their Somali masters in northeast Tanzania around 1840. Many migrated to Somalia in search of security from the slave-trade. Mainstream Somalis look down upon them because of their slave origins. Traditionally, the Mushunguli were farmers and they formed a "caste" group of Somali minorities known as the jareer or jirir.

Ministry Obstacles
Somalia is not a hospitable place for Christian outsiders to live and work.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to minister to the material and physical needs of these poor people, building friendships and trust.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the few Christians among the Mushunguli tribe, that they will find each other, and fellowship together. Pray they will understand well how to know and follow Christ, and will faithfully follow Him.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray these people will be able to care for their families, and live in safety and peace.

Scripture Focus
"Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40

Pray for Jula, Dyula of Cote d'Ivoire

Jula, Dyula of Cote d'Ivoire
The Dyula live in clans, and the clan is the most important aspect of their lives. The people are fiercely loyal to their clans, defending them proudly. They express their history and devotion through the oral traditions of dance and storytelling. The Dyula have great respect for the elderly, especially if a man is an Islamic scholar. The moral principles of the Dyula are based on obedience, honesty, and dedication to their people. Such precepts are motivated by a driving sense of human dignity.

Ministry Obstacles
To follow Jesus is to risk losing clan support, and family support.

Outreach Ideas
Christians should care for the material and physical needs of the Jula community, earning the right to be heard as representatives of Christ.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the handful of followers of Christ among the Jula people, that they will cling strongly to the truths of Scripture, resting upon the finished work of Christ. Pray they become strong enough in the faith to represent the Lord well among their own people.

Pray for the entire people group
Proper sanitation and health care are lacking among the Dyula. Medical missionaries are needed to live and work among the Dyula, showing them the love of Jesus in practical ways.

Pray for Belitung of Indonesia

Belitung of Indonesia
The traditional Belitung house is built on a raised platform with bark walls and roofs of sago palm leaves. They also have temporary villages used during harvest. These houses are built at the edge of the forest and are usually lived in during the time the people work in the field. The Belitung adhere to Islam which came to the area around the 17th century. In spite of their dedication to Islam, many Belitung people are still influenced by animistic belief in spirits and various superstitions.

Ministry Obstacles
These people live on Belitung island, making access somewhat a challenge.

Outreach Ideas
Christians can help encourage and disciple the Christian believers in this people group, praying for them and providing discipleship materials. As these disciples grow they will be able to minister to their own people.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the few followers of Jesus among the Belitung community. Pray they will fellowship together and grow strong in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the material and physical needs of the Belitung to be met. Pray they will be able to provide good schooling for their children.

Pray for Cypriots, Turkish of Cyprus

Cypriots, Turkish of Cyprus
As the descendants of Turkish Ottoman invaders who conquered Cyprus in the sixteenth century, the Turkish Cypriots proudly maintain Turkish language, customs and traditions. The Turkish Cypriots are Caucasians; most have dark hair and brown eyes. They are known to be gentle, courteous, and hospitable to strangers. They are proud of their ethnic heritage and remain very loyal to Turkey. They are Muslim, but the people are very superstitious.

Ministry Obstacles
The Turkish Cypriots maintain strong allegiance to their historic faith.

Outreach Ideas
There is a large Christian presence in the Greek portion of Cyprus. Pray that Christians will befriend the Turkish Cypriots.

Pray for Kerinci of Indonesia

Kerinci of Indonesia
A village of Keinci is called a dusun and is inhabited by one clan that has descended from one common female ancestor. A mother's clan is called the kelbu. This kelbu is considered the most important family unit. Islam is the majority religion of the Kerinci, but they still hold to animism, especially as it is exhibited by their use of traditional healers and magic. In their everyday life they often refer to tataman (meeting ghosts), tatampo (being hit by ghosts), and tapijek anaok antau (being stepped on by ghosts).

Ministry Obstacles
Following Jesus can bring fear of upsetting the spirits, as well as upsetting the community.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to minister to the physical and material needs of the Kerinci, building bridges of trust.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are few Christian believers among the Kerinci community today. Pray for these few, and pray for the additional believers that will soon join them. Pray they will faithfully fellowship together, and will grow in understanding and applying the truth of Scripture.

Pray for the entire people group
This group is quite fortunate to live in a fertile area. But they need to increase their use of appropriate technology to improve their farming and rain-forest productivity.

Scripture Focus
