Pray for Jat, Sikh of India

Jat, Sikh of India
The Sikh Jat trace their origin to the time of the fifth Sikh Guru Arjun Dev (AD 1581-1606), when a large section of the Majha Jat embraced Sikhism. At the village level, the Jat Sikh have felt a threat to their identity, but not on a national level. During the naming ceremony for a child the Sikh religious book (Granth Sahib) is opened and the child is given a name beginning with the letter of the word of the page. Though they staunchly adhere to the tenets of Sikhism, many visit Hindu pilgrimage centers.

Ministry Obstacles
The Sikh Jat speak well over 30 languages and are spread over several states of northern India, probably requiring a number of separate evangelistic and church planting projects to fully reach the community.

Outreach Ideas
Focused prayer for the Jat community coupled with several ministry projects will be necessary.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the few followers of Jesus among the Jat to make every effort to keep the unity of Christ's Spirit through the bond of peace. Pray they will learn to be joyful always, to pray continually, and to give thanks in every circumstance.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Jat community to prepare their children well for the challenges of a rapidly changing society, and to care adequately for the indigent within their community.

Scripture Focus
"The time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory." Isaiah 66:18

Receiving Correction

Alice Smith

Can you give away something that you don’t have? Of course you can’t! Yet, we somehow have the idea that we can consecrate our unsurrendered lives to the Lord. There is only one thing we can wholly give to the Lord—that is the right to ourselves! (See Romans 12.)

In God’s character building school there is a basic operational principle. If when we are tested, challenged, corrected or rebuked and we choose to receive the correction with grace and humility, then the Lord will continue to promote us. But once we get bitter, take offense or try to defend our rights, then the Lord registers our reaction and sees that we are not ready for any higher position of authority. Why? Because surely we couldn’t handle the criticism and pressure that comes with more responsibility.

God tested King David’s reaction to correction through the words of the prophet Nathan. When David and the beautiful Bathsheba had hardly risen from their bed of adultery, David made arrangements for her husband, his faithful military officer Uriah, to be killed on the front line of battle (See 2 Sam. 11:14-27.) It seemed that David had now cunningly arranged his world to make allowances for his sin. But God says, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Num. 32:23).

Following the time of mourning Uriah’s death, God sent His prophet Nathan to confront King David with his sin (see 2 Samuel 12). Nathan told David a story about a poor man with one sheep—a family pet. He explained how a rich man stole and ate the poor man’s only sheep. Thinking that the story was true, King David grew incensed and demanded that the rich man be arrested and immediately executed for such a thoughtless and selfish act. Calmly, Nathan told David that the story was a parable about David’s own life. The prophet turned to David and said: “Sir, thou art the man” (v. 7).

How would David, who had unlimited power in his kingdom, respond to Nathan’s accusation? Would he turn his anger toward Nathan and have him executed instead? Would he deny his sin with Bathsheba? Would he ignore his sin and continue living his life of royalty?

Amazingly, David immediately repented and openly confessed his sin. His words still echo through the halls of history: “I have sinned against the Lord” (v. 13). David obviously was a man of integrity. He accepted with grace the correction due him. He didn’t want to compound his sin of backsliding by adding to it the sin of hypocrisy.

No one enjoys correction. Facing discipline is never fun. In fact, it can be quite painful. Sometimes the criticism is justified, but other times it isn’t. But correction is sometimes necessary if we are to remain spiritually healthy. To listen and heed correction builds our character and often opens the door to future opportunities. But the person who is spiritually unteachable will go back to address the same issues over and over again until he or she learns to receive correction with grace and humility.

The discipline may come in an incorrect manner, but that is not the issue at hand. The question is, When you are challenged, corrected, rebuked or even misunderstood, what do you do? How do you respond? Do you snap back a retort and defend yourself? Do you lash out and point the finger at another? Do you sulk, run away or make excuses for your behavior? These are common responses, to be sure.

However, in every correction there is kernel of truth. Find that truth, permit the Lord to change your character and see how the devil will be unable to find a way to accuse you. God wants to see you react supernaturally to these provocations. If you learn to receive correction with grace and humility, then promotion may be the next step in your future.

I was corrected last week regarding a situation that was taken out of context with what was happening. One of our employers told me what a woman in the organization had said, and honestly my first thought was, What? Just who does she think she is?

But I have learned to submit criticisms that come my way to prayer. I did the same with this criticism. When I went to prayer I began to argue with the Lord about what had been said about me. I was shocked when I heard the Father speak to my heart, “Alice, swallow your pride and apologize.”

Immediately, I confessed this to the Lord and asked Him to change my character that with any criticism I will have a godly response. This practice isn't fun, but I allow the sometimes-painful correction of others to help purify my life. How about you? Will you receive correction and be changed too?

“To be able to see where you are going, you have to look ahead.” Phil. 3:13-14.

To look back will not help us at all to move forward. That is why we may look ahead to see what God is going to do by your prayers.

Greetings, Roberto Wijnhof

Christians in Egypt are calling for prayer amid threats of extremist attack and heightened anti-Christian sentiment.

Months of raised tension between the Coptic community and the Muslim majority have come to a head with the news that extremists who have killed scores of Christians in Iraq in recent weeks may also target believers in Egypt.

Prayer meetings are being held at churches throughout Egypt amid heightened security. In Cairo, the number of security officers standing guard outside churches has doubled. And in Zamalek, visitors to a recent Christmas bazaar and festival at the All Saints Cathedral were met with body searches, metal detectors and sniffer dogs.

News agencies report that the Government has asked pastors to ‘cancel unessential, large-scale public meetings’. Lets pray with our brother and sisters from Egypt.

Please pray for Christine. She has blood clots in the lower part of her body. Sees her dr. Thursday. Thank you for your prayers and God bless you all.

The Hindus of Myanmar are a combination of people groups that originally came from India and Nepal during the time of British colonization. They came as government staff and soldiers who governed the country, however when the Burmese (Myanmar) government gained Independence after WWII, the Indian and Nepali peoples were cast down to the bottom rung of Burmese society.

Today these Hindu peoples are spread throughout Myanmar. Some are found in villages, but the largest concentrations are found in the larger cities. There is a small population of Christians among the Indians/Nepalese, estimated at 2,000 to 2,500 people, but they need to be encouraged to reach out to the lost Indian and Nepalese peoples around them.

Downtrodden, overlooked, but not forgotten by the Savior, please pray for the salvation of the Hindu peoples of Myanmar.
Conflicting Stories on Asia Bibi’s Release

International Christian Concern (ICC) issued a press release on November 22 entitled “Pakistan Releases Christian Woman Sentenced to Death For Blasphemy.” Since the issuance of the press release, we have received conflicting stories about Asia Bibi.

Some of our sources still insist that Asia has been released. However, Pakistani officials denied that they have released Bibi. The officials have publicly spoken about her possible pardon. Pakistan’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Shahbaz Bhatti, said that Bibi is innocent.

In a statement to CNN, the governor of Punjab, Salman Taseer, indicated that Bibi would be pardoned by the president of Pakistan. Asia still awaits the outcome of her plea for mercy to the High Court.

Farhatullah Babar, spokesperson for Pakistan’s president, also told CNN that “Asia cannot be executed now. Under the law, a death sentence issued by a session court cannot be carried out until it has been endorsed by the high court.”

There has already been backlash against Bibi’s possible release. According to the Associated Press, close to 250 hard-line Muslims held a demonstration in Lahore today warning the president not to pardon Bibi.

We are closely monitoring Bibi’s situation and will update you once we obtain new information. Keep on praying for this issue.

My son Jason and his wife have a one month old baby. Please pray my son is able to find a job as an electrician very, very soon. J.

A cross-cultural worker in Nepal writes, “This past week we were out in a bazaar town where one woman along with some other ladies conducted a training for ladies only called “The Bride of Christ”.

The training had over 50 ladies show up from the villages and surrounding towns. During the training, these ladies went out to share with the people of the town, and made over 100 contacts where they had opportunities to share about Jesus with people.

Pray that the ladies who were trained would continue to share boldly and that the seeds which were planted will grow to fruition.

We Won! Oh, Really??

We Won! Oh, Really??
By Eddie Smith

One church beats out another, and thinks it has won!

Many pastors can't explain why their churches are spiritually and numerically stagnant. They repaint, retop the parking lot, manicure the lawns, redecorate the nursery. They promote, advertise and produce new programs. But nothing seems to work.

Of course there can be any number of, or even a combination of things that can contribute to this. One, however, is rarely mentioned. "What," You ask?

"A spiritually polluted atmosphere."

"Huh?"

In our recently upgraded and enlarged best selling book, Spiritual Housecleaning, we explain. In our chapter entitled, Spiritual Church Cleaning, we offer several reasons the spiritual atmosphere of a church's building can become polluted. The Holy Spirit is grieved and withdraws and the enemy infiltrates. You'll be surprised at the possibilities.

So, the reason some guests don't return to a perfectly wonderful church is quite subconscious. They may not even be able to explain it. Because of past events, the door has been opened to darkness and the atmosphere is polluted. Until leadership discovers the pillar event that opened the door and repents (as Nehemiah did) for the past misuses and mistakes of previous leaders, darkness is legal right to remain.

This is quite serious. What follows is a story from that chapter.

We had just stepped of the plane and were met by the missionary who would be our host for the next several days. He was an American missionary in this major world class city.

On the way to his house he explained how expensive property was and how fortunate they were to have their place of worship. “Where do you meet?” we asked.

“We meet in the (he named the building). It’s an ideal worship facility. And we almost missed it. You see another church had it rented on Sunday mornings. So, they offered us Friday nights. But I did some investigative work and found out how much the other church was paying. I offered the owner more money, and he immediately bumped them to Friday night and gave us ‘prime time’ on Sunday morning. Amazing, isn’t it?”

After a few minutes of driving I said, “Pastor, what do we have planned for tonight?”

“Nothing at all--you can rest. Why?”

“We’d like to attend church.”

“Church--what church?” he asked puzzled.

“The church that meets on Friday night,” I explained.

“Why on earth would you want to attend that church?” he asked.

“Pastor, we’d like to attend that church to give you the opportunity to repent to them for taking their worship time. For if you think we are going to stay in your country and minister in your church with this sin hanging over your head, you are sadly mistaken. We’ll catch the next plane home.”

Needless to say he was shocked, and convicted. After a few moments of thoughtful deliberation he humbly agreed.

That night after we went in and sat down I was able to get the pastor’s attention and said, “Pastor, my name is Eddie. I’m from the United States. I have with me the pastor of the church that meets in this facility on Sunday mornings. He is the one who took your Sunday morning worship time from you. He would like to repent publicly to you and your people for doing that. Would you allow us 2-3 minutes of your time tonight?”

He graciously agreed. And when the time came, he introduced me. I introduced my host pastor. He stood before the people and sincerely repented to them with tears for the ‘backhanded’ way he had treated them. When he finished, I asked, “People, will you forgive pastor for what he has done to you.” They did.

What should you expect?

You should expect a supernatural response. In the case of these two churches with different denominational doctrines, members of both congregations began to meet together in city parks together for picnics.
They merged some of their ministries and the pastors preached in each other’s pulpits in the months that followed. And, over the next two years, both churches tripled in size!

ChinaAid is reporting that at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2010, Bozhou Municipal Public Security Bureau in Anhui and Bozhou Bureau of Religion raided a house church on Qingming Street. “More than 10 believers were taken away by the officials; five of them were detained and were not released until that afternoon. Without going through any paperwork, the government officials confiscated items belonging to the church,” said a ChinaAid spokesperson.

“In this process of persecution and growth, the Chinese church is encouraged to play well the role of Samaritans, abandon excuses of cowardice and their fears, and bravely face dark and violent forces of the government by adhering to the principles of Christian ethics and morality. They should unite and help each other, firmly refuse to make compromises and produce greater light and salt.”

ChinaAid says that it expresses “deep regret and puzzlement” at the “ultra-leftist policies” that the Chinese government and its local government are pursuing recently.

“ChinaAid firmly believes the church will grow increasingly mature in the storm of persecutions and it will eventually change the entire cultural and social fabrics of China and glorify the hallowed name of Jesus Christ,” added the spokesperson. Pray for your brothers and sisters in China.

Prayer for my daughter Melissa for deliverance from addiction to cocaine, marijuana and alcohol. For restoration and healing of her mind and emotions. For salvation and for strength to continue parenting her 4 children. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!... Believe with me! E.

Pray for the work in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. Our Associate Pastor Girish is doing the ministry with coordination of few other evangelists named Brijesh and Santosh in these rural areas. In Etawah village they do not have a single church building, so pray that God will provide them a place for worship and that people will grow in the faith in the Lord. There are two girls who are now studying at our Bible College and learning the word of God.

Pray that my brother Mark would vomit every time he sits in front of his computer, that the power of God will open his eyes to the truth of His word. Lord that you would rebuke him for such thoughts that he has in regards to You and Your purpose. Lord break the bonds of pride and arrogance of knowledge in him. Heal him Lord for he is wandering on a path of destructions. It has robbed him of his joy, his marriage and his walk and relationship with You. Heal his wife, for she is Your willing servant, broken and discouraged. Lord give her faith builders to make it though each day. Send encouragement to her Lord fill her with a new love for her husband, and may he see the lack of love in her heart and be broken for what he has done. Be glorified in all you do Lord Jesus, bless this ministry and let is over flow into the darkness...

An Iranian court has passed down a death sentence on a Christian pastor, who was found guilty of so-called “thought crimes.”

The official verdict has now been delivered in writing to Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, stating that he is to be hung for the crime of apostasy.

Spokesman Jason DeMars of Present Truth Ministries, says: “There are 20 days to appeal the verdict, and Youcef’s attorney is now beginning the process of the appeal.”

The prayer burdens surrounding this development are many.

“Please pray for Youcef, that God would grant him peace and strength in this hour, that God would move on his behalf, and that he would be delivered! Pray also for his wife and children; this is extremely difficult for them.

Assyrian Christian communities have witnessed increasing violence by militant Muslims against their neighbourhoods, children, and religious sites. Even pastors are not safe -- two died in the recent Baghdad bombing; many have been killed by Sunni and Shiite Iraqis. In Iraq, Assyrian Christians are fleeing in droves. U.N. statistics indicate that 15 percent of all Iraqi refugees in Syria are of Assyrian Christian background, although they previously represented 10 percent of the population.

The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees estimates that between 300,000 to 400,000 Assyrian Christians have been forced out of Iraq, Assyrian Christians have left because the message from Sunni militants and Shiite ayatollahs is crystal clear: You have no future here.

There is now an alarming possibility that there will be no significant

Assyrian Christian communities in Iraq by century's end. Assyrian Christian schools, communal halls, historical sites, and churches are being appropriated by national and provincial governments, government-sponsored Muslim organizations, and radical Islamist groups.

There is a faint glimmer of hope. On Aug. 5, the U.S. Senate adopted Resolution 322 expressing concern for religious minorities in Iraq. The quick, though unsuccessful, attempt by the Iraqi government this weekend to rescue the Assyrian Christian hostages appears to have been in response to such American pressure -- no official Iraqi interventions had occurred in previous attacks. Pray for your brothers and sisters in Iraq.

Please pray for me to get a job. Pray for me to get financial breakthrough in my life. Please pray for me to come out of my present problems. Thank you. R. India

Prayer Request GPN 11-05-2010

GPN 11-05-2010

“God puts work into your life. He expects you to put life into your work.” Eccl. 9:10. Lets use what He is doing in us, into all our churches. Greetings and have a lively weekend. Roberto Wijnhof.

I had requested prayers regarding my instructor, Loren, who refused to give me credit for a class and test that I passed quite successfully, and that I paid for that testing. We found problems in the records files and got things straightened out, and now I received credit.

More than a third of young people in the UK aged 16 to 24 do not feel part of their local community, research by the Prince's Trust suggests. The study of more than 2,000 youngsters found one in 10 felt like an outcast. It said more than half ‘rarely’ or ‘never’ spoke to people over the age of 40 in their local community. And those who were not in education, employment or training were significantly more likely to feel isolated. Almost a third (30%) did not think there was a future for them in their local area. Almost a quarter (23%) felt ignored by older people. Pray for the older generation in your community to reach out to the younger ones. Pray for strong family relationships where young people can learn how to interact with the family members. Pray for creative ideas on how families can spend time together and learn from one another.

Please pray for my marriage. My husband has been deployed for over a year & even though he's coming home for Christmas, he wants me to know he is confused about his feelings for me; that he thinks of "him" instead of "us". I beg of the Lord to save my marriage! Put a very deep love for me into my husband, for him to truly commit to me and fight for what God wants us to have: a beautiful, loving marriage with unity, harmony and commitment. I believe God created marriage & I know He wants our marriage to succeed. Please pray my husband will give us a second chance and for it to be a success that brings God glory. Please pray for God to work a miracle in my husband's heart even before he comes home and our relationship to take huge strides towards restoration and happiness during his trip home at Christmas. Please pray God works a miracle to save my marriage! Mrs. K.

prayer asked for Ashley to overcome anger, emptiness, bitterness and to grow spiritually in his relationship with Jesus.

The End of Christianity in the Middle East?

Screaming "kill, kill, kill," suicide bombers belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq, a militant organization connected to al Qaeda in Iraq, stormed an Assyrian Christian church in Baghdad on Sunday.

A spokesman for the group subsequently claimed they did so "to light the fuse of a campaign against Iraqi Christians." But the massacre of 46 Assyrian Christians in Baghdad is only the most spectacular example of mounting discrimination and persecution of the native Christian communities of Iraq which are now in the middle of a massive exodus unprecedented in modern times as they confront a rising tide of Islamic militancy and religious chauvinism sweeping the region.

Christians are the largest non-Muslim religious minority in Iraq with roots in the Middle East that date back to the earliest days of the faith when Arabs lived as Bedouins in the desert and were a small minority in a Middle East of Christians and Jews.

Please also pray for my father that he will continually desire to read god’s word and believe again that every word of it is true. Pray God will fill him with His Fire and Holy Spirit again and continually, and help him continually walk in revival. Pray that Satan will never cause him to backslide again .

This has been one of the most disrupted school years for learners, with a prolonged public sector strike which saw teachers abandoning their posts for weeks, and the six week break during the Fifa World Cup. The Grade 12 examinations got off to a smooth last week with no serious hiccups reported anywhere in the country. The exams will be monitored constantly and schools will be visited to see that pupils do not suffer due the disruptions that preceded the exams. Pray that the Grade 12’s will remain calm and focused while they are writing their exams. Pray against any form of anxiety, fear, depression and suicidal thoughts. Pray for the students who are studying under difficult circumstances – poor nutrition, poor living conditions, etc. Pray that God will provide strength and supernatural abilities to excel above their expectations.

Pray that they remain strong amidst all these and that the name of the Lord be continue to be glorified.

Diptipur is a rural area and mostly people are under poverty line. Due to the financial problem the people could not able to come to the hospital for their treatment. They believe in witch craft in which the result they faces death. As in India the infant mortality rate among the poorest quantity of the population is 2.5 times higher than that among the richest. Maternal mortality remains very high. More than one lakh women die each year in India due to pregnancy-related complications. Our visions is to decrease the death rate in this coming three year and make a awareness to wards them. All we need is your prayer, Ashish kumar

Please pray for Alvina and Susan. Both women need guidance in making a decision about major surgery. Thanks.

Indonesia was hit by three violent natural disasters in just two days - an earthquake on Monday (October 25, 2010), a tsunami generated by the quake, and on the next day, the eruption of a volcano. The death toll is currently in the hundreds and is expected to rise. Indonesia is number 48 on the Open Doors World Watch List 2010 of the world's worst persecutors of Christians. Pray for: the Lord to comfort all those who have lost loved ones and homes in this series of tragic events. (Ps.23:4); these disasters to be used to turn the eyes, minds and hearts of the people of Indonesia away from other religions and toward the salvation available in Jesus Christ. (2 Cor.4:4); the Kingdom of God to come to Indonesia not only in word, but in great power.

Please bind all evil and harm from my life. Cancel Satans plans and plead the BLOOD of JESUS over me. Pray for God to deliver me from all demons, sin, darkness, chains, curses, objects causing me oppression, toxicity and handicap in my spirit, soul and body and any evil attached to my soul and spirit. Ask that He would cleanse the spiritual atmosphere around me. Pray Jesus would cover me with His Holy Spirit.

That God would feed my entire being all it needs to reach its full potentials of power, vitality and biological activity on a cellular level as well as filling me with His Holy Spirit, Power and Life. Pray for God to get me all the assistance He wants me to have from other Christians and others. Pray for God to surround me with ministering protecting Angels and to do everything He wills to do to get me where He wants me in life. I need deliverance so badly. Thank you. Needing Him, Shannon R.

Baghdad -- At least 10 Assyrian Christian worshippers were killed and about thirty wounded tonight, when Iraqi security forces stormed a Baghdad church in which terrorists wearing explosive vests were holding them hostage.

Worshippers caught up in the carnage described their ordeal as they fled the church. They said the terrorist attack was heralded by a car bomb outside the fortified church gate at 5:30pm. The two priests, who were about to begin mass ushered at least half of their 120-strong congregation to a small room in the back of the ornate building, in a bid to protect them. Please pray for all those involved.

Please pray for our youth team who are heading for Taiwan today to attend the Global youth conference and thereafter Global cell leaders meeting along with our senior pastor Abraham Sahu. Pray that on their return they will be able to provide strong leadership to the ministry in India.

Father rid my wife and I of lukewarm ness and give us a greater desire to study the Bible, meditate on the scriptures and pray without ceasing.

Heal my pregnant wife and strengthen her spirit, soul and body for the remainder of the pregnancy. A.J.

Please pray for the church of pastor Fernando in Brazil, they lost one of their pastors a while ago by a car accident.

Dear prayer partners!, please pray with me for an increase in my income. I am in need of an income to meet my financial obligations. Please pray with me that God will bless me with a supernatural financial miracle to meet my needs. Thank you for your prayers.

Pray for Digil-Rahawiin of Somalia

Digil-Rahawiin of Somalia
The Digil and Rahawiin (Mirifle) are two of the clan federations of the Somali peoples. The Somalis are not a unitary people group, but a grouping of broad clan federations divided by language and by clan conflicts. The Digil-Rahawiin speak various dialects of what is known as the Maay language. The Digil and Rahawiin clans retain much of the historic nomadic, pastoral culture primarily centered around camels with a few cattle and goats. They are virtually all Muslim.

Ministry Obstacles
The Digil-Rahawiin clans may offer special challenges to evangelists and church planters because of the clan divisions within the broader group.

Outreach Ideas
Christian workers need to care genuinely for the material and physical needs of these people, living in a harsh land.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are very few followers of Jesus among this large clan grouping in Somalia. They need prayer support. Pray they will be sent resources (Scripture, Jesus film, and so forth) to help them become established in the faith. Pray they will be patient with each other, bearing with one another in love.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Digil-Rahawiin people living in the harsh environment of Somalia to be able to care adequately for their families. Pray for sufficient rain, and for good agricultural practices.

Scripture Focus
"All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will worship before You." Psalm 22:27

The Territorial-Level Battlefield

The Territorial-Level Battlefield
By Eddie Smith
© Copyright 2010, Eddie Smith

In the summer of 1990 I heard about an event that had taken place in our city the night before the previous Halloween. It was “Breakthrough Houston,” a citywide convocation of churches to do strategic-level spiritual battle for Houston. Our church was beginning to extend its outward vision, and we pastors felt it would be good if we participated the next time around.
I made contact with the host pastor, the one who’d convened the event, to express our desire to be involved; however, I was sad and surprised when he said, “Oh, we’re not planning to repeat it this year.”
Not going to repeat it? I marveled. I’d heard so many positive comments.
When I asked why, he began to recall a litany of disasters pertaining to the pastors and churches who’d taken part. One, soon after that night, had lost his church. Another’s son had committed suicide. Another’s wife left him. And on and on it went, a trail of anguish and agony all attributed to their participation in Breakthrough Houston itself.
“What exactly did you do last year?” I inquired.
He explained that they first had worshiped for more than an hour. Actually I learned later—from Alice and her friend Eraina, who had attended—that it was mostly warfare music, along the lines of “We’re gonna stomp all over the Devil’s face, rah rah rah.” (I made that up, but you get my point. And, there is a place for that.) Then, he said that one by one, leaders had come to the microphone to pray and speak against Satan and his territorial demonic princes above the city, while almost ten thousand attendees joined in the fervor.
As he spoke it became clear to me why the enemy had retaliated so viciously. I was reminded of a time when, as a child, I threw a rock at a hornet’s nest. It had seemed like such a good idea at first … but in the end I was the victim, not the victor.

Make sure you are in God’s will and stay there. Greetings, Roberto Wijnhof

Nigeria: kidnappings of citizens – especially Christians

Sudan: police aid Muslim’s effort to take over church plot

Eritrean officials arrest eleven Christians

Please pray for your brothers and sisters in these countries.

In a first meeting with the UN Office in Baghdad, the Assyrian Christian delegates were greeted with `this is a Moslem country - your people should leave`.

When the delegation informed the UN Officials that in fact they were the original people of the country, they were ushered out the door.

In addition to assistance, the Assyrian Christians are united in seeking implementation of a promise from the Iraqi Government, guaranteed under the Iraqi Constitution for an area of their own in their homeland in Northern Iraq - the Assyrian Province. Please pray for your brothers and sisters in Iraq.

Please pray for my marriage: I feel my husband is going to ask me for a divorce when he returns from deployment. My husband has been deployed for over a year. He has become cold, non-communicative and non-responsive. I haven't heard from him in weeks. Please pray the Lord would give my husband a very deep love for me and to show that love to me, that he will begin communicating with me again, to be the loving man that I married again, for our marriage to be strong, successful, loving, vibrant and happy. I love my husband with all my heart. I don't know if he is having an affair or has just lost love for me; but I desperately want to not only have our marriage work, but for it to be a success that will give God glory.

Thank you for praying with me; I desperately need God's miraculous and speedy help. My husband was planning to come home on leave for Christmas, but now he acts like he doesn't care to come home at all. Please pray boldly and full of faith. Mrs. K.

Approximately 500 babies have been dumped by their mothers in the Mother City so far this year, but most of them have survived. A recent survey by Child Welfare found that it is mostly young mothers who abandon their babies. There are five reasons which could possibly be the main causes for babies being dumped: Teen pregnancies, drugs, rape, poverty and women expecting foreigners' babies. Pray for young ladies that are pregnant; pray that God will provide a way for them to preserve life e.g. adoption, child care homes etc. Pray for mothers who have abandoned their children and suffer from condemnation and guilt. Ask God to reveal Himself as the Merciful One to them and that they will find grace and peace in His presence.

Dear friends in Christ, I like to ask you for prayer for my old parents: Anne- Metta (nearly 90y.) and Heinrich (92y.)- divorced. They both need salvation and physical healing : Metta of blood pressure, heart, eyes(inflammation), shoulders, hands and a cold and Heinrich of brain (after a 2nd stroke recently.) Dorothy

Last week I had a speaking engagement in Wisconsin and it went really well. All of the prophecies was directional. I am being invited back. This week, I was invited over to pray over a lady that was told she was going to die in a few months by the doctors and she was totally healed after we prayed over her. Also, she was giving directional prophecies in a few minutes and we were able to led ten of her family members to the Lord on the spot. All received directional prophecies. We are being invited back Saturday to meet the rest of the family. My goal is a house church and the multiplied number of new cell house churches. My goal is actually disciples and not churches. That is where the multiplication is going to be.

In the Richmond TX area I now officially have led eighteen people to the Lord here by going store to store and need wisdom to follow them up. Also, in the Pasadena area, I have seen 45 people come to the Lord and this is going to become two different groups.

I am in the need of pray. One man is raising me the support to return to the nation of Peru. I was told that all of the prophecies that I gave ten years ago came to pass. That means that I do not have to sneak in the back door at midnight on a full moon. Praise God. Thanks for praying. And where people are praying, God shows up and there is a crowd. P. Michael Bailey

Uzbekistan: massive fine for having a film of Jesus’ life. Please pray for the freedom for the Christians in Uzbekistan.

Honourable Minister of Social Development, Ms Bomo Edna Molewa will be opening the Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Africa Conference on 31 October at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The conference hopes to highlight that, despite the outward appearance of society polarised between rich and poor, employed and unemployed, there are many people and organisations trying to address the plight of the most vulnerable amongst us. There is nothing like a loving family to engender belonging and a thriving community to give identity. Without these structures as a foundation, many children will find growing up in today’s world even more challenging as they realise their lack of capacity to meet these challenges, incapable of reaching their full potential and increasing their risk to further impoverishment and ill health. Please pray that this conference will inspire people to reach out to the vulnerable. Pray for strategies on how to provide good family life for vulnerable children. Pray that more families will take children into their own homes and provide the stability of family life that so many children need.

To be focussed in prayer with great intensity and expectation

LESOTHO: The Basotho are dying of AIDS before missionaries can reach them

The AIDS rate in the small, landlocked country of Lesotho is officially estimated at 25 percent, but the Dials believe it to be closer to 60 percent. This International Mission Board missionary couple has visited villages in which every person carries the virus.

“We cannot get to them fast enough to give them the Good News about Jesus before they die,” explained Alan Dial.

Physically, the Basotho are steeped in disease. Not only do many carry the HIV virus, but the Dials say that almost all of them are infected with some degree of tuberculosis or other chronic pulmonary diseases. These illnesses are unintentionally welcomed by Basotho who build fires in their huts that release oily fumes. It seems that everyone in the country is riddled with at least one form of infirmity.

The Basotho are no healthier spiritually. As a result of surrounding themselves with witchcraft, the people have experienced demonic harassment in various ways. The Dials mentioned one girl who burst into terrorizing screams during a showing of the “JESUS” film. Her body was paralysed in the crucifixion position until the Dials prayed over her and she went limp.

As Nineveh would have perished without Jonah, so the Basotho will perish without someone sharing the Good News. They are in fact already perishing—and all too soon. Even those that do believe in the message of Christ are dying out before the Truth can be spread. Missionaries are desperately needed to tell them about life in Christ before more precious lives are lost without the Gospel.

- Please pray that the Lord would bring servants to the suffering country of Lesotho.

- Pray that He would open the hearts of the inflicted Basotho and would transform their seemingly hopeless community into one of vibrant faith and love.

- Pray that someone would pick up the legacy the Dials have left.

Hi my brothers and sisters I have asked for prayer many times but this request seems to be more serious. For the next 4 nights I will be riding the subway in NYC with people dressed up in the worst Halloween costumes imaginable. Please say a prayer for me to receive Gods strength and provision and protection, I would deeply appreciate it. GOD richly bless you, brother Danny.

China: church unsurprised by Lausanne incident. Multiple members of various churches in China last week were stopped by their government from leaving the country. The believers were on their way to Cape Town 2010, the Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization. Many were outraged, but Tom Henry with World Serve Ministries says our Chinese brothers and sisters have a different perspective.

“The one thing I have learned about the Chinese is that they totally embrace and follow a God that’s all powerful, that’s Sovereign, that’s loving. And they yield these into His hands so that they have really learned, as Paul said, contentment in all things.” In fact, the church is hoping for God to move in the situation.

“They really have seen God take things like this that are humanly disappointing and use them to really expand the church in China.”

Pray that this would truly serve to strengthen the exploding church in China.

The Lausanne Congress has drawn to an end and the whole week was clearly marked by God’s faithfulness. The next insert is one of the many testimonies of what God did to ensure that nothing His people from gathering to seek His face for wisdom. The sophisticated computer network developed for sharing Congress content with the world was compromised for the first two days of the Congress. There were malicious attacks on the network and a virus was also brought into the centre on a mobile phone. Two cousins from Bangalore were able to solve many of these challenges due to their expertise in these areas. Give thanks to the Lord for every prayer answered during this week's Congress. Please pray for each person as they return home, to find things in order there. Pray that they will work with new vigour and that God will answer their prayers by working signs, wonders, miracles and healing through them, to the glory of His Name.

Pray for Yadava of India

Yadava of India
The Yadava believe they are the descendants of king Yadu, from whom Krishna descended. Their traditional occupation is animal husbandry. They have expertise in oral traditions like sevagaridi, i.e. group singing in praise of Lord Vishnu. They freely share wells, roads, schools, crematoria, temple, etc. with other villagers.

Ministry Obstacles
Our natural human pride often prevents us from humbly accepting the free gift offered through faith in Christ.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to build bridges of friendship with the Yadava. Their interest in oral traditions suggests an oral approach to the presentation of the Gospel message.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are few if any believers among the Yadava today, but pray for the fellowshipping believers that will soon emerge from this community. Pray they will be zealous to know and serve the one who created them and redeemed them.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Yadava community to have good schools available for their children, and for good employment opportunities.

- Pray for Dr Rebekka, who plans to keep running Sunday school and church in Bandung, and using her life to help the poor after her recent prison release.

- ray for West Java, where Shari’a law is being heavily promoted; and pray for pastors under pressure from hostile extremists.

Global Day of Prayer is partnering with NEWPO (National Evangelistic Prayer Watch Outreach) under the leadership of Bishop Peter M Sekhonyane and hosting the 6th annual Power of Prayer Conference that will take place at Maranatha Revival Centre in Orange Farms from 28 – 31 October 2010. This is a very strategic national conference that has birthed the establishment of more than 7,800 Prayer Centres in South Africa over the past five years, with local churches becoming ‘Houses of Prayer’ and ‘Community Watches’ drawing believers together from many churches to pray for their local communities. Please pray that all attendees will be empowered to go back to their own communities to bring forth transformation through prayer. Pray also that believers from different denominations will seek God in unity of spirit.

A Christian pastor in Iran who was sentenced to death for what is being called a “thought crime” has less than a week to live. Advocates for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani told ASSIST News that while all of the other prisoners arrested in a wide-ranging crackdown by Iranian authorities have been released, Nadarkhani still faces the death penalty on October 24. Pastor Youcef was arrested in October 2009 for protesting against a decision of the Corporation to impose Koranic teaching to his son. Please pray for a miracle.

Please pray for a student of mine in my watercolour class named Cindi. Her 27-year-old daughter died in her sleep two weeks ago, leaving a week-old baby daughter and a 4-yr. Old little boy. Her husband and the whole family are trying desperately to pick up the pieces and determine how best to take care of the children. They are grieving deeply and need god's mercy and grace to continue to sustain them through this dark valley. They are very strong in their faith, and god has been working miracles already in this situation. Helen

The 1857 PRAYER REVIVAL in AMERICA

The 1857 PRAYER REVIVAL in AMERICA
-extracts by Wesley Duewal.

A quiet, zealous forty-six-year-old businessman in New York was
appointed on July 1,1857 , as a missionary in downtown New York
at the Dutch Church. Jeremiah Lamphier had been converted in
1842 in Broadway Tabernacle, Finney's church that was built in 1836.

Lamphier felt led by God to start a noon-time weekly prayer meeting
in which business people could meet for prayer. Anyone could
attend, for a few minutes or for the entire hour. Prayers were to
be comparatively brief. Lamphier's group met on the third floor of
the old North Dutch Reformed Church on Fulton Street in New York.
Lamphier printed some handbills announcing the prayer meetings
with the title, "How Often Should I Pray?"

The first day, September 23, 1857, Lamphier prayed alone for half
an hour. But by the end of the hour, six men from at least four
denominational backgrounds joined him. The next Wednesday
there were twenty. On October 7 there were nearly forty. The
meeting was so blessed that they decided to meet daily. One
week later there were over one hundred present, including many
unsaved who were convicted by the Holy Spirit of their sin.

Within one month pastors who had attended the noon prayer
meetings in Fulton Street started morning prayer meetings in
their own churches. Soon the places where the meetings were
held were overcrowded. Men and women, young and old of all
denominations met and prayed together without distinctions. The
meetings abounded with love for Christ, love for fellow Christians,
love for prayer, and love of witnessing. Those in attendance felt
an awesome sense of God's presence. They prayed for specific
people, expected answers, and obtained answers.

Newspapers began to report on the meetings and the unusual spirit
of prayer that was evident. Within three months similar meetings
had sprung up across America. Thousands began praying in these
services and in their own homes.... By the end of March over six
thousand people met daily in prayer gatherings in New York City.

Meetings began in February in Philadelphia. Soon Jayne's Hall
was overfilled, and meetings were held at noon each day in public
halls, concert halls, fire stations, houses, and tents. The whole
city exuded a spirit of prayer.

Almost simultaneously noon prayer meetings sprang up all across
America in Boston, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Richmond,
Charleston, Savannah, Mobile, New Orleans, Vicksburg, Memphis,
St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago, and in a multitude of
other cities, towns, and in rural areas. By the end of the fourth
month, prayer fervor burned intensely across the nation. It was an
awesome but glorious demonstration of the sovereign working of
the Holy Spirit and the eager obedience of God's people.

INVISIBLE CLOUD of GOD'S PRESENCE

A canopy of holy and awesome revival influence - in reality the
presence of the Holy Spirit - seemed to hang like an invisible cloud
over many parts of the United States, especially over the eastern
seaboard. At times this cloud of God's presence even seemed to
extend out to sea. Those on ships approaching the east coast at
times felt a solemn, holy influence, even one hundred miles away,
without even knowing what was happening in America.

Revival began aboard one ship before it reached the coast. People
on board began to feel the presence of God and a sense of their
own sinfulness. The Holy Spirit convicted them, and they began
to pray. As the ship neared the harbor, the captain signaled,
"Send a minister." Another small commercial ship arrived in port
with the captain, and every member of the crew converted in the
last 150 miles. Ship after ship arrived with the same story: both
passengers and crew were suddenly convicted of sin and turned
to Christ before they reached the American coast.

HOMES, SHOPS, FIELDS and CHURCHES

Reports came in of hundreds being converted in prayer meetings,
private homes, workshops, and fields. Often the doors of businesses
held signs reading, "Closed, will reopen at the close of the prayer
meeting." Five prayer meetings took place daily in Washington,
D.C. Five thousand or so attended daily services in the Academy
of Music Hall.

In Philadelphia, Jayne's Hall removed partitions and added space
for six thousand people to attend daily meetings.... The services
consisted of simple prayer, confession, exhortation, and singing.
But it was "so earnest, so solemn, the silence. ..so awful, the
singing. ..so over-powering" that the meetings were unforgettable.
A canvas tent was erected for outdoor meetings, and it immediately
filled with people. In four months' time, a total of 150,000 people
attended the ministry in the tent, with many conversions..... the
best estimates are that 6.6 percent of the entire population of the
United States was converted during the revival.

Prayer Request GPN 10-14-2010

GPN 10-14-2010

“Peace is the condition of the heart, not of circumstances.” Matt. 8:19

Let the peace of God fully reign in your heart. Greetings, Roberto Wijnhof

My instructor, Loren, refuses to give me credit for a class and test that I passed quite successfully, and that I paid for that testing. He is giving my different excuses at times as to why he cannot give me the credits, but these are not valid reasons as I show him the papers and the requirements and what grades I received.

Please pray that the Lord will intervene on this situation and turn his heart around to be honest with me and give me the class credits. C.

Lord, please soften and change Paul's heart drawing him to Jesus. Open his eyes and heart to accept Truth. Help Paul to hear and learn from you so he will come to Jesus. Flood his heart with Your light and give him revelation of who you are and Your plans for his life. Bring your labourers forth to show Paul the way. In Jesus name.

There is no doubt that there are at least 75,000 believers in Algeria today and the number is growing daily. The vast majority are in the Kabyle areas. At least 3,500 believers get baptized every year. The number of churches, house churches and groups is impossible to count. The believers have a great desire to share their faith in the towns and villages where they live. They also go and evangelise in other towns and villages. One large church has planted 6 other churches. The Kabyles are very open to the gospel. These people are ready to hear of another Way to God and be assured of their salvation. Pray that more leaders would have opportunity for leadership training, in preparation for ministry. Ask the Lord to raise up leaders in pastoral care. Ask the Lord to provide books and training materials. Pray for more meeting places. And praise God for all these new believers!

Maldives: Muslims Force Expat Christian Teacher to Flee

Mistaking compass she drew for a cross, parents of students threatened to expel her.

Authorities in the Maldives had to transport a Christian teacher from India off one of the Islamic nation’s islands after Muslim parents of her students threatened to expel her for “preaching Christianity.”

On Wednesday night (Sept. 29) a group of angry Muslim parents stormed the government school on the island of Foakaindhoo, in Shaviyani Atoll, accusing Geethamma George of drawing a cross in her class, a source at Foakaindhoo School told Compass. A few days earlier, George, a social studies teacher, had drawn a compass to teach directions to Class VI students. But the students, who knew little English, mistook the drawing to be a cross and thought she was trying to preach Christianity, the source said. The students complained to their parents, who in turn issued a warning to the school.

“There were only 10 teachers to defend Geethamma when a huge crowd gathered outside the school,” the source said by telephone. “Numerous local residents of the island also joined the parents’ protest.” The school administration promptly sought the help of officials from the education ministry.

“Fearing that the teacher would be physically attacked, the officials took her out of the island right away,” the source said. “She will never be able to come back to the island, and nor is she willing to do so. She will be given a job in another island.” Please pray for safety as a Christian.

Could you pray with us as we are organizing a revival meeting in Saint Malo - France - For a mighty move of the Spirit of God ? Also for our health to improve, it's like a kind of virus or bacteria is attacking Nadia and I. Thank you so much and Blessings to you. Frédéric and Nadia

From 16-25 October 2010, more than 4,000 Christian leaders will face major obstacles to world evangelisation meeting in Cape Town for 10 days. They trust God for breakthroughs in six main areas: portraying the uniqueness of Christ in a pluralistic world; religious fundamentalism; obstacles to world evangelisation within the church; the shift within the world church from the Global North to South and West to East; the development of a theology of suffering and reconciliation; and the building of new partnerships to help the church advance in the unfinished task of world evangelisation. Please pray into these different focus areas now, so leaders will be able to hear God's voice on these issues when they gather.

Pray for Surajpark church believers, that they may grow in faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Pray for Pastor Satyanarayan that God may use him in this area and bless him with wisdom, knowledge, power and strength. Pray for his wife and children too. Fifty thousand people, Africans and Americans alike, are expected to descend upon the Capitol West Mall in Washington DC on Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and participate in Africa Prays For America, a unique and unprecedented prayer gathering hosted by the African Strategic Leadership Prayer Network (www.aslpn.org). African Strategic Leadership Prayer Network (ASLPN), an assembly of African Christian leaders from around the world, is a non-profit Christian charitable organization dedicated to prayer and intercession. The ASLPN said, “We are coming, leaders and lay people, we are coming from dozens of African Nations, we are coming 50,000 strong to petition heaven in unity. We, African believers, call all Christians to join us on October 16 to pray for America. May our light never go out.” Pray that every attendee from Africa will only release and pray according to the Spirit of God. Pray that every attendee will have God’s kingdom in mind and the expansion thereof. Pray against the activity of false prophecy, any form of witchcraft, etc. Pray that Africans will call on the name of the True and Living God, the Holy One of Israel to intervene on behalf of America.

Please pray for the Assyrian Christians of Iraq. Please pray in particular for the nearly 500,000 refugees in neighbouring countries and within Iraq as we work to provide them with assistance, help to go home and protection.

Religion is largely irrelevant to most young people who rely instead on a ‘secular trinity’ of themselves, their family and their friends to give meaning to their lives, a new book claims. The study published by the Church of England concludes that people born after 1982 - known as ‘Generation Y’ - have only a ‘faded cultural memory’ of Christianity. For many young people, religious observance extends no further than praying in their bedrooms during moments of crisis, on a ‘need to believe basis’. Fewer than one in five young people believe in a God ‘who created the world and hears my prayers’, and teenagers were more likely to believe in the ‘nicer’ parts of religious doctrine than those about the devil and punishment. ‘It is undoubtedly the case that the Christian memory is very faint and in many respects Generation Y is a largely unstoried and memory less generation,’ the study said. Continue to pray for the young people in your community by speaking the Word of God into their lives. Try to spend time with them and listen to their battles and pray accordingly.

Pray for the AIDS situation in our country. Pray for the Churches to rise in India and take the responsibility to show Christ love to them. Pray for our HIV/AIDS awareness programme and the radio programme on FM Rainbow through which we reach to thousands every week with the latest information about the pandemic and also the Gospel. Pray that we would be able to work towards educating the present and the future generation in fighting this deadly disease and caring for its victims with the love of Jesus Christ. Please pray for Zeeta, Anil, Azad, Suresh and others in the team.

Pray for Namasudra, Hindu of Bangladesh

Namasudra, Hindu of Bangladesh
Some Namasudra own land and are engaged in cultivation, but a large number are daily-wage workers. Rickshaw-pulling, poultry farming and goat-rearing are secondary occupations. They profess Hinduism, and worship Lakshmi and Parameshwar. Their literacy rate, according to the 1981 census, is 29%.

Ministry Obstacles
The effective literacy rate may well be less than 29%. If the Gospel of Christ comes to them only in printed form the literacy rate will be a problem.

Outreach Ideas
Oral communication of the good news of Christ may be most appropriate. Stories from Scripture, Gospel radio, films, and recordings will all be useful.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are a few people in the Namasudra community who identify themselves as Christians. Pray they will come to truly trust in Christ, and follow Him obediently. Pray they understand that to be a Christian means more than cultural identification.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Namasudra community will make schooling a priority for their children, and will be able to care adequately for their families. Pray for health care, clean water, and sufficient food.

Scripture Focus
"And those who lead many to righteousness [will shine] like the stars for ever and ever." Daniel 12:3

“We can not bear fruit without the water of God’s Word.” Psalm 1:3.

Have a fruitful weekend, Roberto Wijnhof.

I had an interview with a company and I am waiting for a response from them by next week. I’ld like you to pray along with me for a favourable response. Thank You.

Hearing "You are fired" or "We are laying off personnel" can be the hardest words for a person to hear in life. However, it does not have to be the end of the world. It can actually be the beginning of a new life for you. Still it is important to face the realities of life in practical ways. Pray for those who have lost their jobs recently. Cover them in prayer in the days and weeks after getting the news of losing their job. Pray for God's protection over their hearts and minds and that they would take every thought captive in obedience to Jesus Christ (2 Cor.10:4-5). Ask that they will experience God's love and power and have a sound mind (2 Tim.1:7). Pray that they will be honest about their feelings and able to explain to their families what happened, how it might influence their immediate circumstances and not hide the truth from them. Pray that their families will be supportive.

I would like to request prayer for me and my family, for a financial breakthrough, and for God's favor on every area out of our lives. Thanks I.

Please pray that no weapon formed against our Ministry Website, Businesses, Myself, or Wife or any of my Children or Family will ever prosper.

The kingdom of god & god’s blessings will daily come to our Ministry Website, Businesses, myself & my wife and all my children and family. John M.

Please pray for me so that the Lord Jesus Christ can help me to help to get out of debt and for me to become his messenger too. For the Lord to lead me in everything in my life. To heal every part of my body, in Jesus Name. I need help from God, I want to serve Jesus with my whole heart, mind and soul while I can. Nedd to be delivered from all wrong things of this world. So that God can bless me with a good lovely, blessed, kind, happy and Godly marriage.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim2:1-4). Join other believers in prayer for South Africa. Pray for many believers in Cape Town to respond to this call to stand in the gap for South Africa. Pray that every person will seek counsel from God regarding the year 2011 and God’s plan for the future of South Africa.

I have not had a job for over a year. I have been contacted for a job and fly out for an interview Tuesday October 12 and 13. This is for a sales manager position and I really need the job and know I can do it and benefit the company. I need to impress them so please pray for me. This would so benefit my family.

Thank you and God bless, Denise

Please, pray with me that J.M Makes more steps toward me, invite me to go out with him soon, that god lead our words and emotions and that soon we begin good, happy relationship if it is God will!

Please, pray for improvement of our relationship, that he be very much involved in my life and me in his! Thank you for all your prayers. K.

Hi, my brothers and sisters asking asking special prayer for GODS strength and provision i usually wait until tomorrow but i feel the HOLY SPIRIT telling me to send it tonight. GOD richly bless you, brother Danny

Bhutan, South Asia: The mountain nation of Bhutan is nestled between India and China in the eastern Himalayas. It has been called the last place on the "Roof of the World" and is one of the most isolated nations on earth. Mahayana Buddhism is the state religion. Hinduism also has a powerful influence on the population. Officially, the Christian faith does not exist. Believers cannot pray or celebrate in public, and the government forbids house gatherings that involve multiple families. Missions work is forbidden. Praise: In an amazing answer to prayer, the premier of Bhutan vowed to keep politics free of corruption. Pray for citizens who rely on agriculture and forestry (the majority of the population) to reap fruitful harvests. Pray for them to realize the source of these blessings and come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (Gen.22:14). Pray for the strongholds of Buddhism and Hinduism to be broken, brushed aside, and forgotten. Pray for God's Kingdom to come mightily to the people of Bhutan. (Col.1:13,14). Ask the Lord to soften the hearts of the Bhutanese so they will be fertile soil for God's Word and will bring forth bountiful fruit. (Matt.13:8).

Today pray for Rayeen, Muslim of India

Rayeen, Muslim of India
The Rayeen belong to the Sunni sect of Islam. The majority have traditionally been engaged in horticulture and gardening, although this has changed in recent years. The marriage symbol for women is the nose-ring. The Rayeen women, besides performing household chores, assist their menfolk in agricultural operations, cattle-rearing, and in other economic activities. They favor formal education but most of the children drop out after the primary or secondary level, mainly due to economic reasons.

Ministry Obstacles
The Rayeen community may be somewhat uninformed as to why Christians believe Jesus is deity, the Son of God. Pray they will be shown the basis for this belief.

Outreach Ideas
Christian workers can carry the message of Christ to these people using stories from Scripture, and through the use of films and recordings.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There may be no followers of Jesus among the Muslim Rayeen at present, but pray for those the Lord will soon lead to Himself. Pray they will be joyful always, praying continually, and giving thanks in all circumstances. Pray they will clearly understand the basis for their faith, and rest in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Pray they will learn to live in the power of Christ's Spirit.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Rayeen community will be able to find employment opportunities, and be able to send their children to school.

"The time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory." Isaiah 66:18

Moroccan convert serving 15 years for his faith

Moroccan Convert Serving 15 Years for His Faith

Nearly five years into the prison sentence of the only Christian in Morocco serving time for his faith, Moroccan Christians and advocates question the harsh measures of the Muslim state toward a man who dared speak openly about Jesus.

Bakrim, a Berber from southern Morocco, studied political science and law in Rabat. After completing his studies he travelled to Europe, where he became a Christian. Realizing that it would be difficult to live out his new-found faith in Morocco, in 1993 he applied for political asylum in the Netherlands, but immigration authorities refused him and expelled him when his visa expired.

Rachid asked that Christians around the world continue to lobby and pray that their Moroccan brothers and sisters stand firm and gain their freedoms.

“The biggest need is to stand with the Moroccan church and do whatever it takes to ask for their freedom of religion,” said Rachid.

Pray for my brother Peter, he just lost his wife.

COLOMBIA: Pastor Reyes missing two years.

On 25 September 2008, Pastor William Reyes disappeared and was never seen again. Because of his position as a pastor, he had been repeatedly threatened and targeted by armed groups for several years before his disappearance. Two years on his wife, Idia Miranda Reyes, is bravely speaking up about her husband’s disappearance in the UK.

CSW is bringing Idia on a speaking tour of UK churches this autumn, giving her the chance to tell her inspiring faith story. But, to do this, we need your help! Please join us in praying for Idia’s visa to be granted swiftly, so that she can share her story with you in person.

Please pray for R. she is abused when she was only 11 years old. She is now 15. She needs restoration and healing, some times thoughts of killing her self creeps in her mind. On her school she is not doing good. Please Lord help this young girl.
INDONESIA: Church leaders attacked in Bekasi.

In the Jakarta suburb of Bekasi, the Batak Christian Protestant Church is recovering from the attack on two of its leaders by Islamic hardliners in public earlier this month – one stabbed and the other beaten. In democratic, diverse Indonesia such religious violence is feared to be on the increase. Please pray for them and their churches.

Urgent prayer alert

Early this morning in Pakistan Parvez Choudhry, Chairman of LADS Christian lawyers group, was harassed by men with weapons outside his home and his car was later pursued by unmarked vehicles. Please pray for protection and strength for Parvez and his family, who regularly receive death threats for his work defending those accused of blasphemy.
