HELP PUT AN END TO GLOBAL BLASPHEMY LAWS

HELP PUT AN END TO GLOBAL BLASPHEMY LAWS AND SUPPORT H.RES. 290 AND S.RES. 69

#EndBlasphemyLaws
Today, we want you to raise your voice by petitioning the government of the United States for the passage and implementation of H.R. 290, calling for the global repeal of blasphemy laws.

Christians and other religious minorities face life in prison and even death in countless countries for defaming specific faiths! In 44 countries, including Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Indonesia, blasphemy laws remain on paper with little chance of reform. These laws enable individuals to accuse their fellow neighbors of defiling their religion (predominately Islam) leading to speedy trials and quick sentencing often times culminating in the death penalty.

Please take just a moment and click on the link to sign our petition urging the United States Congress to pass and implement H.Res. 290 and S.Res. 69, so that the U.S. government will be a global voice in denouncing blasphemy laws.
Petition Calling for the Passage and Implementation of H.Res. 290 and S.Res. 69 for the Global Repeal of Blasphemy Laws!
While in some countries blasphemy laws are no longer followed however, certain regions such as the Middle East and parts of Africa and South Asia continue to implement it within their penal code. In many cases, the charge of blasphemy is the result of personal squabbles and a means to instill religious radicalism among the population. Other cases, like that of Asia Bibi, A Christian mother in Pakistan sentenced to death, was accused of blasphemy because she dared to drink from a water bowl reserved for Muslim women. In Sudan Meriam Ibrahim, A pregnant Christian mother, was sentenced to death for marrying a Christian man under similar charges.
The United States Congress currently has two similar resolutions introduced calling for the repeal of global blasphemy laws in House Resolution 290 and Senate Resolution 69. The United States has an opportunity to be a voice for the voiceless on the international stage and ensure Christians and other religious minorities are not trapped under an archaic and inhumane law. Please stand with the persecuted and support the resolutions by signing on to our petition and letting Congress know the repeal of blasphemy laws are an important step to ensuring global religious freedom and peace.

"As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions.  One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him.  Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand." - Romans 14:1-4
