at the age of five and was called to preach at the age of eight.” “Doc”

-- Donald Grey Barnhouse, William Pettingill and Harry Ironside --

He
was licensed to preach at the age of seventeen and preached his first
sermon on the subject of THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST. In this
sermon he spoke of the promise, the plan, the purpose, the power and the
person of his coming. Throughout all of his life, beginning at a very
early age, he studied prophecy and frequently sees something new in the
scripture that he never saw before.
He
pastored his first church at the age of eighteen and at the age of
nineteen was ordained into the Christian ministry at Bellview Baptist
Church by his pastor, Dr. Robert G. Lee. Most of his young life and much
of his preaching, teaching and writing has been on Bible Prophecy. He
taught through the entire Bible, verse by verse, before the age of
forty. He studied under Dr. David L. Cooper for ten years at the
Biblical Research Society and then became its President when Dr. Cooper
went home to be with the Lord. He was also editor of the Biblical
Research Monthly.
“Doc” began a daily radio ministry in 1954 and has seen the BIBLE INSTITUTE OF THE AIR
program grow until today it is heard daily into most of the world. He
has produced over 14,900 radio broadcasts, taught his six-hour prophecy
seminar in almost every state of the union and he was a professor at
both Faith Seminary and the Louisiana Baptist Seminary. His degrees
include: D.D; Litt.D; D.SAC.TH.; PHD; and TH.D.
“Under
his leadership, World Bible Society has printed and distributed Bibles
into 65 countries, including over 10 million in Russia since 1989 using
the former Communist Party propaganda presses,” said the website. “He is
author of The Millennium, The Apocalypse and Armageddon, When: When will the Rapture Take Place,
and has written dozens of booklets that have been translated into 40
languages. He also has numerous bible book studies available on CD’s and
DVD’s, as well as airing numerous broadcasts on Christian radio and
television.”
Dr.
Beshore has been married to his wife Lois for 62 years. They have three
children [Kenette, Kenton, Kandis]. Kenton is pastor of Mariners Church
in Irvine, California --- one of the largest churches in America.

until his death, he had been teaching a large class at Mariners Church
each Sunday morning. Both of their sons-in-law are active in ministry.

position and two grandsons are youth pastors “DOC” and Lois have ten
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Glen
Megill, president of ROCK of Africa, and a close friend of “Doc,” wrote
on his Facebook page, “This week we lost a giant of a man. Everyone has
people in their lives whose impact cannot be denied. To me, Doc Beshore
was such a man.
“Doc
Beshore influenced MANY others. His daily radio broadcast was heard
around the world for decades. He leaves a legacy in his many books on
Bible Prophecy. His guidance in the birth of ROCK of Africa Mission
cannot be understated.
“I
met him 30 years ago and had the honor to work beside him for the past
21 years. He was a man with enormous intellect and wisdom. He was also a
unique character you would not forget.”
Megill
added: “Our paths crossed during an important season of my life. For
this I am most grateful. ‘Doc’ Beshore was a mentor, counselor, and
wonderful friend. ‘Til then, Doc...’ til then.”
