Moghal in India

Moghal in India
The Moghal are a well-known Muslim community of North India. According to sources, they were originally from Mongolia and came to India along with the Mughal emperor Babar, the founder of the Mughal empire in India. They are divided into the Shia and Sunni sects of Islam. They adhere to sharia law as regards the rules of marriage, divorce, remarriage, and inheritance of property. They celebrate all Muslim festivals with great enthusiasm and devotion.
Ministry Obstacles
Lack of understanding of the full credentials of Jesus stands in the way of belief, for most Muslims.
Outreach Ideas
Christians need to communicate to these strongly Muslim people that following Isa (Jesus) does not require giving up all of their culture.
Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for those the Lord will soon call to himself from among the Moghal community of India. They will need teachers to help them become established in the faith. Pray for their protection from destructive influences.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Muslim Moghals will be increasingly drawn to the man Isa (Jesus) as they study the Koran. Pray they will desire to learn more about him, and that this desire will be satisfied as the Lord reveals himself to them.
Scripture Focus
"Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession." Psalm 2:8
