Help Us Help Those Suffering for Their Faith This Thanksgiving

LAKE FOREST, CA (ANS – November 22, 2016) -- Dear ANS friend:

It is that time of year again. The holidays are upon us, and here, in the United States, Thanksgiving Day takes place on Thursday. It’s when families get together to share a special Turkey meal and catch up with each other’s news.

The hustle and bustle has already begun as people prepare to fly home and be with family and friends, honoring old family traditions as well as making new ones.

I am sure that you are reflecting on what you are thankful for this year, and Norma and myself are no different. We are thankful to the Lord for the privilege of knowing Him, and also for being able to share with you the many stories about our suffering brothers and sisters through the ASSIST News Service.

We are especially thankful that the Lord put it on our hearts to begin the news service some 25 years ago, and that you, our faithful friends, are praying daily for those that we feature on ANS.

I read recently read that some 100,000 Christians die each year for their faith, and that works out to be about 11 believers die every hour for the “crime” of following Jesus Christ in countries like Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Pakistan. It is a sobering thought for those of us living in freedom, but we can play our part in easing their pain.

So this Thanksgiving, would you consider making a special gift to ASSIST to help our unique news service continue with our mission of informing the world about our persecuted brothers and sisters.

Proverbs 11:25 says “…he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” Think about whom you have been able to bless this year and continue to bless through your donation. Norma and I bless you as we give thanks for all you have been able to do every day of the year.
