Baangi, Cibaangi of Nigeria

Baangi, Cibaangi of Nigeria
The Baangi people live in northern Niger State, in Nigeria. They are centered around Bangi town which is south of Bena. Some speak the Baangi language, and others speak Hausa in order to identify with Hausa culture. They practice a mixture of Animism and Islam, with Islam more evident in the towns.
Ministry Obstacles
Workers will find the area somewhat inaccessible during the rainy season, and living conditions are primitive. Persecution may come later to Baangi believers.
Outreach Ideas
Pray that Nigerian Christians of other tribes will be given a heart to reach the Baangi tribe with the good news of Christ. Pray especially that the Lela, Dakakari people will be given a desire to do this, as they are neighbors.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There probably is not a single follower of Christ among the Baangi tribe. But pray for those who will soon come to Christ, that the Lord will send teachers who will help them become firmly grounded in the faith.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Baangi tribe will be given a growing desire to know Truth, and will not be satisfied with anything less. Pray also for peace in northern Nigeria.
