An

near Erbil. Most of the estimated 1 million people fleeing an imminent
attack on Mosul, Iraq are expected to be women and children, and a
ministry based in Iraq seeks assistance to purchase food, Bibles and
supplies in preparation for the bereaved and needy multitudes. “We are
currently trying our best to serve about 1,600 families that have
monthly food needs, and we are expecting a large number of refugees
coming to Kurdistan, north Iraq, from Mosul in the coming months,” the
ministry director said. Besides 10,000 food packages costing $15 each,
the ministry plans to distribute 40,000 children’s Bibles in Arabic and
Kurdish ($5 each) and 30,000 New Testaments ($2 each). “Humanitarian aid
will help us extend the hand of mercy to the people who need it with
the message of healing and salvation to people with a lot of stories and
tragedies that will result from this war,” he said. “It will give us
the keys to open doors of opportunities to witness about Christ.”
