Brahmin in India

Brahmin in India
The Brahmin are a priestly class, described as having originated from the face of Prajapati (Viratpurusha). A Brahmin concerns himself with the spiritual guidance of the people and is consulted for reading the meaning of Scripture. On auspicious dates and events he officiates at ceremonial functions. They are considered custodians and transmitters of sacred traditions. As custodians of Brahminical Hinduism, the Brahmin worship deities on a large scale.
Ministry Obstacles
Pride of the Brahmin is a serious obstacle to humbly accepting the gift of faith.
Outreach Ideas
Sustained, focused prayer is needed to open the hearts of the Brahmin to the Gospel message.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There are a few Christian believers among the Brahmin. Pray for them, that they will be firmly committed to following Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith, and will be consistently filled with His Spirit.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Brahmin to be able to humble themselves and accept the free gift of life found by trusting in Christ and his finished work. Pray the Lord will open their eyes to their need.
Scripture Focus
"The people who walk in darkness, will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them." Isaiah 9:2
