Tubu, Daza of Niger The Tubu (or Toubou) are subdivided into two separate people, the Teda and Daza. They are believed to share a common origin, but now speak two distinct if clearly associated languages. Tubu life centers on their livestock. An individual's clan is very important to him. His clan has a reputed founder, a name, a symbol, and associated taboos. Though staunchly committed to Islam, the Daza Tudu incorporate some animism into their religious activities.
