Comorian, Ndzwani of Madagascar

Comorian, Ndzwani of Madagascar
Many of the Comorians now residing in Madagascar initially came to Madagascar seeking better socio-economic conditions. Others fled their country during periods of political strife. Also, many university students from the Comoros study in Madagascar, since there is no university in their country. Some have Arab ancestry and others are mixed with African races. Comorian life in Madagascar centers around commerce with most families involved in some form of trading. The religion of the Comorians is Islam with a strong emphasis upon folk and animistic elements. Charms, magic, trances, demon possession, and curses are an integral part of their religious practice.
Ministry Obstacles
Spiritual opposition can be expected when Jesus is presented to people. Workers need to be prepared for this, but not intimidated.
Outreach Ideas
Madagascar provides an environment where the Comorian can be reached with the Gospel, while that would not be true in Comoros where evangelism is prohibited. Pray that Christians in Madagascar will seize this opportunity.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There probably are no followers of Jesus among the Comorians of Madagascar at this time. However, please pray that those who will soon come to faith in Christ will have mature Christians to help them become established in the faith.
Pray for the entire people group
Please pray Comorians will gain a growing interest in Isa (Jesus) as the Koran is read. Pray they will be drawn to this prophet who is much more than a prophet.
Scripture Focus
"But indeed, as I live, all the earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord." Numbers 14:21
