Romani, Sinte, Kazakhstani of Kazakhstan

Romani, Sinte, Kazakhstani of Kazakhstan
Originally from India, the Gypsies are now scattered throughout the world. "Gypsy" is the general English term used; however, in their homeland of India they were originally called Dom, meaning man. Their communities are largely closed to outsiders. Dom lifestyles vary widely. There are those who are nomadic, offering their services as entertainers, musicians, or metal workers. Others are migrant workers. The Dom people tend to adopt the dominant religion of their host country. For Central Asia, this is Islam. While there are some devout Muslims among the Dom, the majority are only nominal Muslims.
Ministry Obstacles
The Romani tend to be closed to outside influences, and are also somewhat nomadic. Building friendships with such people is difficult.
Outreach Ideas
Christians may be able to find ways to help the Romani with material and physical needs. Much prayer is needed for these people to begin to search for truth as found in Jesus Christ.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There are few if any followers of Christ among the Romani in Kazakhstan. Pray that believers among the Romani in neighboring countries will be sent to help their brothers and sisters in Kaakhstan.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Romani of Kazakhstan will be good citizens, honest and productive, wherever they may live.
Scripture Focus
"I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth." Isaiah 49:6
