Zhuang, Central Hongshuihe in China

Zhuang, Central Hongshuihe in China
The Zhuang are China's largest ethnic minority group. They are, for the most part, plains dwellers practicing wet rice farming side by side with the Chinese. Their traditional religion is polytheism. They believe in many spirits, often malicious, who control the events of their lives and must be appeased. Despite this, the Zhuang are very open and ready to receive the Gospel.
Ministry Obstacles
Living in fear of spirits for many years may not be quickly overcome.
Outreach Ideas
The Zhuang fields are ripe for harvest, workers are needed to help disciple the new believers.
Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the growing numbers of Christian believers among this large people group, that they will grow in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, learning to live in the power of His Spirit.
Pray for the entire people group
Although China's government is making strides towards modernizing the country, the Zhuang are being left out of the industrialization programs. For this reason, they are lagging behind both economically and educationally. They need to improve their agricultural practices, and have opportunities to educate their people.
Scripture Focus
"All nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name." Psalm 86:9
