Shilha, Southern in Morocco

Shilha, Southern in Morocco
The Shilha Berbers are a poor but proud people. They are tough and hard working, scratching out a meager existence in a part of the world that is physically antagonistic to an agricultural society. Most are farmers and shepherds. Some have now left their poor, overpopulated valleys, in hopes of finding a better life in the northern cities of Morocco.
Ministry Obstacles
Morocco is closed to Christian missionaries. Creative means to minister to these people are necessary.
Outreach Ideas
Although the Shilha are Muslim, their religion is mingled with spiritism and mysticism. This blended religion has created a curiosity and yearning to know more about their god, which is an opening for the good news about Jesus.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There are some believers among the Shilha Berbers. Pray these believers will be rooted and established in love.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray for adequate health care for these people living in rural areas, and for educational opportunities for the youth.
Scripture Focus
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." Matthew 9:37-38
