Tebbu, Diebu in China

Tebbu, Diebu in China
The Tebbu (or Diebu) people live in one of the most dramatically remote regions of China. They are largely cut off from the rest of the world by their surroundings. The Tebbu homeland is to this day dangerous for visitors, and the people wild and unpredictable. Although almost all Tebbu people profess Tibetan Buddhism, shamanist and animist rituals undergird all of their religious practices.
Ministry Obstacles
The remoteness of the Tebbu people has long been a barrier to the Gospel of Christ.
Outreach Ideas
Much prayer is needed to prepare the hearts of the Tebbu to desire to hear of Christ. Pray for hungry and receptive hearts.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There is evidence of only one Tebbu follower of Christ today, although there were several many decades ago. Pray for any remnants of that early church, and pray for the Tebbu that will soon become believers. Pray that teachers will be available to them, even though they live in an inhospitable location.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Tebbu people will not be satisfied with their knowledge of God. Pray for seeking hearts, that yearn to find out more about God, and that this desire will lead them to find Christians to help them.
