Tanti, Hindu in Nepal

Tanti, Hindu in Nepal
The Tanti are said to have originated as the weavers, providers of cloth. Not too long ago, virtually every home would have had a loom and cloth present. They are considered among the lower castes of India, and they are near the bottom of the nation economically. They tend to live in villages outside of major metropolitan areas. Many are now doing subsistence level work either of weaving or other manual labor within villages. They often do not have clean water or steady food supply.
Ministry Obstacles
The self-identity of the Tanti is closely bound up with Hinduism, making it very difficult to separate the two.
Outreach Ideas
Christians can carry the Gospel of Christ to the Tanti community through use of Gospel films and recordings, and also by telling stories from Scripture.
Pray for the followers of Christ
A few of the Tanti have reported themselves as Christians to the census of Nepal. Pray for helpers for these people, those who can instruct them properly in the ways of Christ.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray for each Tanti individual to soon hear the Gospel message in their own tongue, and in an accurate and understandable manner. Pray the Lord prepares them to understand and believe.
Scripture Focus
"Now it will come about that In the last days, The mountain of the house of the Lord will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it." Isaiah 2:2
