Aji in Indonesia
In the time of the Majapahit Kingdom, the Aji were
ruled by a duke from Majapahit who lived in Tanjung Raya Village. They
did not want to be colonized by the Netherlands and formed an army. Now,
social stratification is still based on the stratification of the Aji
Army. These stratifications are: Ratu (King), Panglima (Commander),
Kerio Perang (Troops), and ordinary people. The Aji people make a living
by growing two crops: coffee and rubber. The Aji are Muslims and a
mosque can be found in each of their villages. The Aji maintain good
relationships with people of other religions and no religious
disturbances have been reported in their area. However, they still
practice cultic worship of various objects.Ministry Obstacles The Aji have no scripture or other Christian resources reported as available in their language. Outreach Ideas Pray that workers who know how to tell stories from scripture will contact the Aji and tell them about Jesus Christ. Pray for the followers of Christ There are probably no followers of Jesus at this time among the Aji. However, please pray for those who will soon come to Christ in faith, believing. Pray they will learn to walk in the power of God's Spirit, experiencing love, joy, peace, and all the fruit of the Spirit. Pray also they will learn to share their faith with family and friends in an effective way. Pray for the entire people group Small business management and home industry training could help reduce poverty in Aji areas and bring work opportunities to young Aji people. Today, almost all Aji young people leave the Aji area in search of work. Scripture Focus "Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest?' Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest." John 4:35 |
