What Happened in Juarez?

EHC workers visit a family in Mexico.
“I have your daughter,” the voice on the phone said, “and if you involve the police, I’ll send her home in a coffin.” Pastor Eduardo Garcia knew the caller meant business. The violent kidnappings and senseless murders were why he’d devoted his life to proclaiming the Gospel in one of the world’s most dangerous cities. He and his wife, Chita, had already lost one of their children on the streets of Juárez. Eduardo could still envision his son’s lifeless body just hours after they’d prayed that God would work a miracle and make their city safe again.
“The price is too high,” Eduardo thought — but only for a moment. It would have been easier to pack up and leave Juárez, but God had called him to fight against the powers of darkness in Mexico. Strengthening their resolve, the Garcias decided to move forward with the city-wide campaign they had planned. God honored their commitment. Three days after paying their daughter's ransom, she was safely back home.
Between 2008 and 2011, more than 12,000 people died due to the violence in Juárez. But change began in 2012, when hundreds of trained EHC pioneer missionaries from all denominations united to share the Gospel home to home. As a result, thousands of lost souls accepted Christ.
The sudden decrease of criminal activity caught the attention of news broadcasters who reported that something unusual was happening in Juárez. We know what that something was — the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We want to train more pioneer missionaries like those who helped rescue Juárez and equip them to reach a lost and dying world. Will you help? Every dollar you give reaches three households (about 12 lost souls). Please be as generous as you can by giving at www.ehc.org/give-now. The Eduardo and Chita Garcias of the world are counting on you.
Thank you,
Your friends at Every Home for Christ
