Kheng in Bhutan

Kheng in Bhutan
The Kheng are Tibetan Buddhists, but the ancient Bon religion greatly influences their outlook, as well. A few distinct traits set the Kheng apart, for instance their practice of serving raw meat with their drinks on special occasions, a practice at odds with the typical norms of Tibetan Buddhism which frown on the killing of animals for food. They are found primarily in the Zhemgang and Mongar districts of south central Bhutan.
Ministry Obstacles
Pray for increased availability and use of Gospel resources in the language of the Kheng.
Outreach Ideas
The believers among the Kheng may be able to communicate the Gospel message to the remainder of their people. Pray for them.
Pray for the followers of Christ
A few Kheng came to Christ in the early 1990s. Pray they are properly discipled, mature soundly in the faith, and are given favor with family and friends.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Kheng will be given the opportunity to hear the message of Christ's person and work in their mother tongue, and in a fashion they can fully understand.
Scripture Focus
"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'" Isaiah 52:7
