God is Up to Something

God is Up to Something
They called him El Malvado, “The Evil One,” because he recruited young children to sell drugs for him and turned them into career criminals. Anyone brave enough to challenge him was targeted and sometimes killed. Everyone feared El Malvado — until an EHC gospel worker boldly approached the Colombian drug lord and asked to pray for him.
It was a gutsy move that could have led to fatal consequences, but God had other plans. Instead, our humble servant’s sincere question brought the drug-addicted killer to tears. Moments later, “The Evil One” was listening to a gospel presentation and sobbing as he repented of his sins. That was last February.
Our workers in Colombia believe El Malvado was sincere when he prayed the sinner’s prayer. He continues to welcome the EHC workers’ regular visits to encourage him and teach him from God’s Word. Local Christians say “The Evil One” has even been known to stop them on the street and ask them to pray for him.
What was it that softened the hardened heart of a vicious drug lord and brought him to his knees? A 33-cent gospel booklet that explained, in simple terms, that God would forgive his every sin if he would repent and accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
We all have spare change in our pockets or purses. Instead of spending it on something you don’t need, why not use it to change a life? Every dollar you give will reach about 12 people with the Good News of salvation. A gift of $35 will reach about 420 lost souls who desperately long for hope.
Many of you can do much more. Please give a generous gift today at www.ehc.org/give-now. It may be your dollar that reaches the next El Malvado.
Thank you,
Your friends at Every Home for Christ
