Far
from Western ways, Christmas dinner takes on a uniquely sub-tropical
look for a young girl in Chhattisgarh state, India enjoying a yuletide
outreach by an indigenous ministry last year. The ministry has helped to
transform rural communities through evangelism, vocational training,
publishing, youth outreach and caring for children's basic needs. More
than 260 churches have formed as a result of these efforts. “We do
preaching, teaching, and prayer,” the ministry director said. “In the
village areas, a lot of persecution is going on, but we can do a lot of
wonderful work through prayer, especially for sick people among
non-Christians.”
