Civilians
trapped in areas of Aleppo, Syria cut off from aid supplies scramble
for precious rations of water. The sounds of shelling have largely
subsided in Aleppo this week as a cease-fire went into effect on Monday
(Sept. 12), giving civilians hope for renewed supplies of aid, including
water, food and medicines. As the five-year civil war has left the
local economy in ruins, an indigenous ministry in Aleppo is helping
civilians to pay rent and school tuition for their children, as well as
providing medical aid and cash for other expenses. The ministry director
pleaded for Westerners not to forget suffering civilians in Aleppo.
“Thank you for remembering the Syrian people in your prayer,” he said.
“Thanks to God for His mercy and blessings.”
