Kota Bangun Kutai in Indonesia
Speakers of the Kota Bangun dialect of the Malay
language reside in the central Mahakam River basin of East (Timur)
Kalimantan, in the Kutai region. The first Roman Catholic mission was
established in this locality in 1907. In the beginning of the 20th
century the economy of Kutai flourished as a result of the establishment
of the Borneo-Sumatra Trade Co.Ministry Obstacles This community lives in a remote region of Indonesia, and has little knowledge of who Jesus is. Outreach Ideas Christian workers can take the Gospel into this region via films and recordings, and also use stories from Scripture. Pray for the followers of Christ There may well be no followers of Jesus among this Muslim people group, but pray for those that will soon emerge. Pray that the Lord will provide good pastors and teachers for them, and that they will follow the Lord with total commitment.
