A Veteran Prayer Warrior

I want to introduce to you a veteran Prayer Warrior, who had lots of victories in getting answers to prayer for politicians and elections. He is my maternal Uncle and his name is Dr. Daniel Jesudas. God saved him in 1958 and after his graduation from College, He led him to work in Assam. So far he is the only preacher who preaches the Bible on DD1, the national channel. Last three years he preached Christmas messages and Good Friday messages on DD1. He will again present a Good Friday message on DD1 on coming Good Friday of 2009 probably at 9 am. In 1960, when he was only 17 years old, he saw a vision of bright light and Lord Jesus coming down in shining light and lay His hand upon his head and vanish away. So he feels that God has anointed him for a very special ministry to the people of India and that of the world. He did his B. Sc in Trivandrum and Master’s Degree from Tennesse Temple University in USA. He got his Doctor of Divinity from Faith Theological Seminary of Milton, Florida. He got his Diploma in natural medicine from Calcutta and he is a Registered Medical practitioner.

As he shared with me, he prayed for the USA Presidential elections of 1992. When he prayed one month before the elections of November that year, God showed him that Mr. George Bush (senior) was the best person to be President of that land. But God also showed him that Mr. Bill Clinton will be elected as President. It happened just as God showed him. On election day 2000, when he was praying in the morning, God showed him that Mr. Al Gore was going to be eleccted as President that year. He argued with God and told him that it will not be good to continue the liberal policies of Bill Clinton for another eight years. God gave him a wisdom to pray in the following way, "God please forgive the sins of the American people namely, homosexuality, abortions, devil worship, immorality, pride, money worship etc and pray that God would confuse enough voters that day so that the better of the two will be elected." He believes strongly that it is his prayer that caused the hanging chad which was from the confusion caused in a few thousand people whose vote Al Gore could not get. Had he gotten those votes, he would have been surely the President. He says, “what a mighty God we serve”.

2002 he told to his school students in one morning assembly that Dr. Manmohan Singh will make a better Prime Minister. All said, “not even an outside chance” for that to happen. But it happened. In 2004, all the opinion polls showed that BJP will win big and get more than 300 seats in the parliament. He wrote letters to tens of thousands of Pastors especially in the Northern states of our country. In the letter he encouraged Pastors to influence the election process. Because he believes that God's commandment to believers to pray for all in authority (I Timothy 2: 1-5) means that prayer should come from faith and faith without works is dead. So he encouraged pastors to do everything possible to get righteous and secular minded people to be elected and pray on election day, "God please confuse enough voters today so that more righteous and secular minded people will be elected." Before the parliament elections of 2004, he told me that he was praying that one party in T. Nadu will not get even a single seat as God told him to do that. I had my own doubts, but i thanked God that his prayer was literally answered.

Last year in June, God showed him that Mike Huckabee who was in the fray for Republican Party candidacy would make the best President for USA. God also showed him the same time that Barak Obama will become the President in the elections. He has announced it in the churches where he preached in Arkansas in the same month. Last year before the elections in Rajasthan he said that he will pray and do all he can to unseat the then government that persecuted his friend Bro. M. A. Thomas of Kota. With the help of one Bro. Ajit Pal from Orissa, he prayed and worked for it and God answered him again.

He mentioned about one prayer he did from July 15 of last year. On that day he heard from Television that the price of gasoline in the world market was $147.27 per barrel and that it may go up to $200 a barrel which will in turn make prices of all products that need transportation to go higher. He earnestly pleaded with God to rebuke the speculators who bid the prices of gasoline high that they will not do it. He also prayed for the demand to come down and that the prices come down with all this. On July 16th he said that he was in Delhi and tried to call our PM’s office and Mr. Pranab Mukherjee’s office etc to get an appointment. He got no positive response from any of them. Finally he called Mr. L. K. Advani who gave him time to meet him at 5.30 p.m. the same evening. While talking to him, he says that he told him, “Sir, I started praying for gasoline price to go down in the world market and in the next two weeks you will see that it comes down drastically.”

After the two weeks, while he was watching CNN, he heard that the gasoline price had come down to $121. 38 per barrel. He said that he called Mr. L. K. Advani and checked with him if he remembered his statement on the gasoline price and if he had noticed that it had come down by $26. As he answered in the affirmative, he mentioned to him that he did that to prove to him that he is a man of God and God listens to his prayer. Today the same gasoline price is $100 down from what it was on July 16, 2008.

He truly believes that the party or alliance that promises him a ministerial berth in the next cabinet will get the majority in the parliament through his prayers. If no party offers him that, he predicts that UPA will get to rule, yet without a comfortable majority. He honestly believes that there was a Jesudas difference in the election results of Assam in the last couple of elections as he prayed for the congress. Without that difference, means without his prayer help, congress will win only minimum number of seats in Assam this time, he foretells. There are so many more to be written, but I hope this will be enough to show his worth to our nation and to our people, so that a constituency of our land will demand him as their candidate.
