Prayer Request GPN 11-05-2010

GPN 11-05-2010

“God puts work into your life. He expects you to put life into your work.” Eccl. 9:10. Lets use what He is doing in us, into all our churches. Greetings and have a lively weekend. Roberto Wijnhof.

I had requested prayers regarding my instructor, Loren, who refused to give me credit for a class and test that I passed quite successfully, and that I paid for that testing. We found problems in the records files and got things straightened out, and now I received credit.

More than a third of young people in the UK aged 16 to 24 do not feel part of their local community, research by the Prince's Trust suggests. The study of more than 2,000 youngsters found one in 10 felt like an outcast. It said more than half ‘rarely’ or ‘never’ spoke to people over the age of 40 in their local community. And those who were not in education, employment or training were significantly more likely to feel isolated. Almost a third (30%) did not think there was a future for them in their local area. Almost a quarter (23%) felt ignored by older people. Pray for the older generation in your community to reach out to the younger ones. Pray for strong family relationships where young people can learn how to interact with the family members. Pray for creative ideas on how families can spend time together and learn from one another.

Please pray for my marriage. My husband has been deployed for over a year & even though he's coming home for Christmas, he wants me to know he is confused about his feelings for me; that he thinks of "him" instead of "us". I beg of the Lord to save my marriage! Put a very deep love for me into my husband, for him to truly commit to me and fight for what God wants us to have: a beautiful, loving marriage with unity, harmony and commitment. I believe God created marriage & I know He wants our marriage to succeed. Please pray my husband will give us a second chance and for it to be a success that brings God glory. Please pray for God to work a miracle in my husband's heart even before he comes home and our relationship to take huge strides towards restoration and happiness during his trip home at Christmas. Please pray God works a miracle to save my marriage! Mrs. K.

prayer asked for Ashley to overcome anger, emptiness, bitterness and to grow spiritually in his relationship with Jesus.

The End of Christianity in the Middle East?

Screaming "kill, kill, kill," suicide bombers belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq, a militant organization connected to al Qaeda in Iraq, stormed an Assyrian Christian church in Baghdad on Sunday.

A spokesman for the group subsequently claimed they did so "to light the fuse of a campaign against Iraqi Christians." But the massacre of 46 Assyrian Christians in Baghdad is only the most spectacular example of mounting discrimination and persecution of the native Christian communities of Iraq which are now in the middle of a massive exodus unprecedented in modern times as they confront a rising tide of Islamic militancy and religious chauvinism sweeping the region.

Christians are the largest non-Muslim religious minority in Iraq with roots in the Middle East that date back to the earliest days of the faith when Arabs lived as Bedouins in the desert and were a small minority in a Middle East of Christians and Jews.

Assyrian Christian communities have witnessed increasing violence by militant Muslims against their neighbourhoods, children, and religious sites. Even pastors are not safe -- two died in the recent Baghdad bombing; many have been killed by Sunni and Shiite Iraqis.

In Iraq, Assyrian Christians are fleeing in droves. U.N. statistics indicate that 15 percent of all Iraqi refugees in Syria are of Assyrian Christian background, although they previously represented 10 percent of the population.

The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees estimates that between 300,000 to 400,000 Assyrian Christians have been forced out of Iraq, Assyrian Christians have left because the message from Sunni militants and Shiite ayatollahs is crystal clear: You have no future here. There is now an alarming possibility that there will be no significant

There is a faint glimmer of hope. On Aug. 5, the U.S. Senate adopted Resolution 322 expressing concern for religious minorities in Iraq. The quick, though unsuccessful, attempt by the Iraqi government this weekend to rescue the Assyrian Christian hostages appears to have been in response to such American pressure -- no official Iraqi interventions had occurred in previous attacks. Please pray for you brothers and sisters in Iraq.

Please also pray for my father that he will continually desire to read god’s word and believe again that every word of it is true. Pray God will fill him with His Fire and Holy Spirit again and continually, and help him continually walk in revival. Pray that Satan will never cause him to backslide again .

This has been one of the most disrupted school years for learners, with a prolonged public sector strike which saw teachers abandoning their posts for weeks, and the six week break during the Fifa World Cup. The Grade 12 examinations got off to a smooth last week with no serious hiccups reported anywhere in the country. The exams will be monitored constantly and schools will be visited to see that pupils do not suffer due the disruptions that preceded the exams. Pray that the Grade 12’s will remain calm and focused while they are writing their exams. Pray against any form of anxiety, fear, depression and suicidal thoughts. Pray for the students who are studying under difficult circumstances – poor nutrition, poor living conditions, etc. Pray that God will provide strength and supernatural abilities to excel above their expectations.

Please pray for our work in Rajasthan in North India. Under the leadership of Pastor Samuel, we have two of our workers there working for establishing more Churches amidst lots of hardship and difficulties. Pray that they remain strong amidst all these and that the name of the Lord be continue to be glorified.

Once again I want to share you that please keep Christian Hospital Diptipur in your daily routine prayer. We urgently need your prayer. Diptipur is a rural area and mostly people are under poverty line. Due to the financial problem the people could not able to come to the hospital for their treatment. They believe in witch craft in which the result they faces death. As in India the infant mortality rate among the poorest quantity of the population is 2.5 times higher than that among the richest. Maternal mortality remains very high. More than one lakh women die each year in India due to pregnancy-related complications. Our visions is to decrease the death rate in this coming three year and make a awareness to wards them. All we need is your prayer, Ashish kumar

Please pray for Alvina and Susan. Both women need guidance in making a decision about major surgery. Thanks.

Please pray for my friend Edith who was diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday. We do not know the stage yet. Please God, she is such a good person and she has two young children who need her very much. I pray it is in an early stage and can be treated and cured. thank you for all who prayed for my uncle Paul. He has made a miraculous recovery! Now we need to direct our energy to Edith. Thank you so much and bless you all. Mrs. K

Indonesia was hit by three violent natural disasters in just two days - an earthquake on Monday (October 25, 2010), a tsunami generated by the quake, and on the next day, the eruption of a volcano. The death toll is currently in the hundreds and is expected to rise. Indonesia is number 48 on the Open Doors World Watch List 2010 of the world's worst persecutors of Christians. Pray for: the Lord to comfort all those who have lost loved ones and homes in this series of tragic events. (Ps.23:4); these disasters to be used to turn the eyes, minds and hearts of the people of Indonesia away from other religions and toward the salvation available in Jesus Christ. (2 Cor.4:4); the Kingdom of God to come to Indonesia not only in word, but in great power.
