Changpa in India

Changpa in India
The Champa inhabit the frozen deserts that separate Ladakh from Tibet in Jammu and Kashmir. The name Champa may have been derived from their traditional drink, chang. Their staple food is barley and the meat of yak and wild horse. The major economic resources of the Champa are yaks and goats. Their snow desert habitat does not have any communication or health service facilities.
Ministry Obstacles
The Champa live in a remote region.
Outreach Ideas
Christian workers can carry the message of Jesus to these people by recounting stories from Scripture, and showing films about the life of Christ.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There likely are no followers of Christ among this Buddhist community, but pray for the ones that will soon emerge. Pray they will forgive one another, just as Christ forgave them.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Champa community will find needed health care, and that they will be able to prepare their children to enter the 21st century in a productive manner.
Scripture Focus
"All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats." Matthew 25:32
