Pray for Mongol, Sichuan of China

Mongol, Sichuan of China
Sichuan Mongols live in Sichuan Province, spread out along two or three valleys in Yanyuan and Muli counties, northeast of Lugu Lake. Most are farmers or fishermen, leading quiet lives in their remote villages. Very few Sichuan Mongols have ever heard the name of Jesus Christ.

Ministry Obstacles
The Sichuan Mongols are surrounded by unreached people groups on every side; therefore, there are no Christian communities nearby who could reach them. Gospel radio broadcasts in Mandarin have had little effect because few understand Chinese.

Outreach Ideas
Han Chinese believers may be led by the Spirit of Christ to share Jesus with these Mongol people. Pray this will occur, and pray they are faithful to be obedient in this matter.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the few Sichuan Mongols who know and follow Jesus Christ. Pray they will be sent teachers to help them become established in the faith and grow. Pray they will find each other in order to fellowship. Pray they will be zealous to follow Christ.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Mongols of Sichuan to have the opportunity to hear accurately of who Jesus is, and what He has accomplished. Pray they hear in their mother tongue, and hear more than once. It usually requires several exposures to adequately understand the Gospel message.

Scripture Focus
"All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats." Matthew 25:32

Hundreds of Bibles Burned by the Iranian Government Security Forces“

For these reasons Christians have taken refuge at homes and congregate in home-style churches form small home-based churches. Even then, many of these Christians are harassed and often pursued by security agents and are arrested and detained. Many Christian leaders have been detained for long periods of time in undisclosed locations and often very expensive bails have to be posted to secure their freedom.

The spokesperson concluded by saying, “In any event, the burning of any book, especially one that is honoured and revered by a great majority of people around the world, is an unacceptable and immoral act and must be condemned by the world community.” Please pray for your brothers and sisters in Iran.

Please pray for our work in Nepal. We are touching that country from Bengal and also in partnership with Pastor Peter Rai. Please pray for the crusade and pastors conference we plan to hold in the month of November this year. Please pray for my brother Robby, he needs healing of sugar diabetes. Sis. R.

Pray for Laz, Lazuri of Turkey

Laz, Lazuri of Turkey
In Turkish folklore, the Mingrelian have a reputation for plundering and piracy. They were notorious as kidnappers, and until the 1800's, they engaged in slave hunts focusing on young children. Today, however, they are respected as industrious, educated, adventurous, and trustworthy people.

Ministry Obstacles
Scripture resources are needed in their language.

Outreach Ideas
Georgian believers could be challenged to minister to the Mingrellian in both Georgia and Turkey. Gospel recordings in the language are available.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray those who consider themselves to be Christians will in fact place their faith in the finished work of Christ, and joyfully give thanks to the Father who has qualified them to share in the inheritance of the saints.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray each Mingrellian individual will soon have an opportunity to hear the Gospel of Christ in their language and in an understandable form, which they will both understand and accept.

Scripture Focus
"But indeed, as I live, all the earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord." Numbers 14:21

AFHGANISTAN: National elections need your prayer

Afghans are due to vote for parliamentary candidates this weekend, despite violent opposition to the elections from some. But it is unlikely that Afghan believers still in hiding will be voting. In June, CSW reported on heightened threats to Christians after footage was aired of Afghans being baptised. Now, danger remains high, fuelled by further broadcasts and last week’s controversy over one pastor’s plans to burn Qur’ans in Florida.

Please lift all Afghan believers and the newly-elected parliamentarians in prayer this weekend.

France takes heat for Roma solution

Controversy over France’s expulsion of the Roma overshadowed the itinerary at a European Union summit last week.

The EU’s Justice Commissioner said the action was no different from deportations that took place during World War II.

France is now facing possible legal action over its controversial drive to deport ethnic Roma back to Romania and Bulgaria.

A report indicated that nearly 60 percent of French surveyed were in favor of ousting the Roma. In July, French president Nicolas Sarkozy launched the forced closure of 300 illegal migrant camps.

Since then, France kicked out nearly 8,000 Roma to Bulgaria and Romania. But DeYoung says there’s nowhere for them to go. “They’re one of the largest people groups that don’t have their own homeland and are seen as outsiders in the midst of majority populations around the world.”

DeYoung believes the resentment can be traced back to population. France’s birth-rate has been steadily declining, while that of the Roma has been on a steady rise. This issue boils down to identity. “Those who are in the countries – in the ethnic groups – where the birth-rate is low, living side by side with people where the birth-rate is high, there is the fear that they will eventually be minorities in their own country.”

However, Words of Hope has a heart for these people, with years of outreach through broadcasting in Eastern Europe in the Balkan Romani language. “It’s programming that tries to create that sense of common identity, of empathizing with people, even though they may be different. That’s one of the things that we’re trying to do as we broadcast the Gospel.”

As Words of Hope has built an audience, they’ve also seen people come to Christ and plant churches. As the EU grapples with the issues raised by the French/Roma debacle, the Gospel’s simplicity reveals a solution. “It’s a goal to try to bring about the sense of not being all the same, but yet celebrating that common bond that unites us through Jesus Christ.” Keep praying that more hearts will respond.

Father just died, and this just a few weeks after the state bureaucrats pushed my brother to cash in dad's life insurance policy that would have given us a good sum, but recently these bureaucrats ripped us off due to my brother's lack of discretion, real understanding, wisdom, proper planning, and spiritual knowledge of what was going on in the spirit realm. I know that there are several witches involved with this state agency tied somehow to the First Universal Unitarian "church" here and their witchcraft circles (publicly announced), since some other bizarre events occurred recently with these same people and their recently attacks of false accusations against me that I proved were wrong. Please pray for the Lord to work all the issues out, to protect my brother and me from these bureaucrats and the witches who have targeted me since summer of 2009 for my Biblical stance. C.

I am so grateful to God Almighty for giving me the opportunity to write to the brethren of the global prayer network. I want to thank God for your prayers I requested since I was in Niger concerning going to study French in Burkina Faso. God has granting me the grace to got the scholarship as I requested. By the special grace of God, I will be in Ouagadougou either September ending or early October. I need your prayer for safe trip for my studies. I will go with my wife, three children. From Haruna Y..

“We have been holding prayers for the country,” Sharma said. “It is a grim scene today. There is an economic crisis, and Nepal’s youths are fleeing abroad. Women job-seekers abroad are increasingly being molested and tortured. Even the Maoists, who fought for secularism, are now considering creating a cultural king. We are praying that the political deadlock will be resolved, and that peace and stability return to Nepal.”

Please pray for the country of Nepal.

Two thirds of parents in the UK believe children are exposed to unsuitable content on television before the watershed, a survey has shown. An online survey of 1,004 parents of children under the age of 18 revealed that 67 per cent thought inappropriate content was broadcast before 9pm. A further 80 per cent said they felt films and video games with violent or sexual themes can be accessed too easily by children. The research, conducted for The Mothers’ Union, also showed that most parents think television, films, magazines and the Internet make children sexually aware at a younger age. Pray for the media to recognise their responsibility in protecting children and young people. (Deut.5:29). Pray for parents in your community to keep a watchful eye on the content of the material that their children have access to.

Please be in prayer and intercession for my friend, Janice and her family:

They are in a crisis situation that involves her son, Ryan and wife, Jill and their 5 children. Please pray that the perfect will of god will be accomplished in everyone's lives, and that god will make a way where there seems to be no way.

This situation requires a huge miracle of god to set everyone free. Please pray for a peace that passes all understanding for Janice and all involved. They need victory and the promises of god that bring hope to the situation.

Janice is truly exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally drained, and needs for her arms "to be lifted" up by others in prayer!! In his love and care, Helen

Pray for the city of Christchurch in New Zealand that has been recently devastated by a very strong earthquake. The Holy Spirit may comfort them all.

Also pray that the tiny nation of New Zealand that sent missionaries all over the world some 100 years ago but now in complete control of the devil. The younger generation has made drinking and merry making as their God. That Christchurch will again become the real Church of Christ.

There is an immense onslaught on family life. There has probably never been a time in history when marriage and family life have been under such strain. Purposeful, systematic, intelligent and persevering prayer is necessary in this area. It is important that every family pray together. Husband and wife should pray together

regularly, but there should be a certain time each day when the whole family prays together and studies the Bible. Ask God to inspire married couples to pray together. Ask God to help the parents to inspire their whole family to seek God on a regular basis.
THE BRUNEI CONNECTION

For prayer this month we review and summarize a number of key matters mentioned over past months … let us continue in focused and intentional intercessory prayer until we see breakthrough and a fulfilment of God’s Kingdom rule and reign becoming a deep reality in Brunei.

- PRAY for the new families who have relocated to Brunei, not simply taking up overseas job opportunities, but who share our sense of vision for God’s glory and long to see biblical and indigenous communities of faith in Jesus established and growing among Brunei’s unengaged, least-reached, majority people.

- PRAY for the increasing number of local Chinese, Indian and indigenous Christian businessmen who are becoming intentional in blessing the nation through a number of creative projects.

- PRAY for the significant Filipino community in Brunei … the majority of whom are employed in the more low-paying jobs, including working in the Sultan’s palace and for other Brunei Malay employers … to be salt and light, and wonderful reflectors of God’s presence.

- PRAY that the larger Christian Church community in the nation will become increasingly a fountainhead of life and blessing to the whole population.

- PRAY for the salvation of the royal family.

- PRAY for the situation in mission-based schools where the subject of Religious Knowledge is now banned. Pray wisdom for school boards, principals and faculty as they seek creative ways of introducing Bible-based teaching. “To the glory of God - movements of biblical and indigenous communities of faith in Jesus among the unreached Muslim peoples of Brunei, multiplying themselves, and reaching out to other peoples.”

Voice of the Martyrs Canada confirms that on August 21, Islamic militants in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia found Mohamed Ali Garas, a prominent Somali church leader and convert from Islam, and beat him severely.

Five years ago, Garas fled his Somali homeland. VOMC’s Greg Musselman says Garas he sought refuge in Ethiopia because “he was involved in church work there as a pastor. Attempts were made on his life. He’s been threatened, he’s been arrested.”

On the night he was attacked, he was walking home when he heard two men calling his name. He turned to see what they wanted, and they attacked, fleeing only when a neighbour arrived on the scene. Although the beating was severe, Garas survived.

Somali Christians living in Ethiopia have come under increased attacks from Somali Muslims in recent months. That’s a trend that is likely to continue. Musselman says, “When you understand a little bit of the group like al Shabaab... you’re not surprised that they will go to any length. They’re thinking is that ‘the only kind of a Somali Christian is a dead one.’”

International Christian Concern notes that a Somali pastor in the Ethiopian capital has described this latest attack as “an apparent attempt to scar the Somali Christian community in Addis Ababa who considers Ethiopia a safe haven from religious persecution.”

Musselman notes that prayer is a powerful recourse. “Lord, our brothers and sisters in Somalia are such a small group. They’re trying to be faithful. There are other Somalis that have left the country; they’re trying to be faithful, and they continue to suffer attacks, and it’s difficult for them. But we ask You, Lord, to move on the hearts even of the enemies that are persecuting these believers, that they would have the freedom to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Ask God to heal Garas.

- Pray that his attackers will be brought to justice.

- Pray that he and other Somali believers facing persecution in Ethiopia will continue to trust in the Lord to guide and embolden them as they serve Him.

Our Son V. in NZ. is very depressed. Holy Spirit of God, please take control of the situation as we submit that child at thy feet for comfort, mercy, grace and protection.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ please kindly pray for me and my entire family for the following reasons:

- that the lord almighty should forgive all of our sins, that of our parents, grand parents and great grand parents and clear us from ancestral courses that we are suffering from.

That every money that we have in our pockets should only be spent on useful projects.

- that he should use the blood of his son to wash away every evil marks of failures and hatred in my life.

- pray for us for good health and that the noises I do constantly have in my right ear should stop completely in the mighty name of Jesus so that i can now sleep at night like others for lord I was not born with this disease. That I should have the necessary finance for my trip to the uk and that the lord will enable me obtain an entry visa and that i shall travel safely to the uk and back to my country. that my junior brother Aghanwi should succeed in obtaining an entry visa to the usa in the mighty name of Jesus.

- that the lord should not let the enemies in my life to triumph and that he should destroy every spirit of confusions and frustrations in my life. Pray that he should use the angel of goodness to convert all my failures into success , the poverty in my life into blessings, every sickness in my life and that of my family into good health and every frustration in my life and that of my entire family into fulfilment, mistakes in my life into perfections, so that when the perfect shall come the imperfect shall disappear and that let all his goodness and mercies follow me and my entire family all the days of our lives. that the lord almighty should straightened every crooked ways in my life. That he should use his fire to melt any gate of iron against our lives and that he should command every padlock used against my ways of progress to be broken and that he should command the gates of prosperity in my life to be open. That the lord should supply me with all the necessary finances to clear off my debts and the necessary funds to start my farming business in my village Chomba. That i shall have many contracts for borehole construction all over Cameroon.

- that the lord almighty should support me and my cousin Derick Mancho to obtain international support and recognition for the summit hills foundation for the blind and that we should be able to raise the necessary funds for the building of the international blind center in Bamenda – Cameroon. That this blind foundation shall receive only favourable and positive answers from the requests we have sent out to both national and international donors.

Thank you brothers and sisters for praying to me and my family. Awah Calvin

Bamenda Cameroon.

Injustice had built up and increased over many years in every sphere of our society (government, politics, business, education, etc) in South Africa . The Government alone could not succeed in rectifying this problem in our nation. Human rights and the corruption of our society gave every individual the freedom to do what seems or feels right to him or her. We no longer have a moral system determining our behaviour. The judicial system has become slow and ineffective and because of this, evil is increasing in our nation (Eccl.8:11 - Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.) Greed (bribery, theft, unequal distribution of finances, unfair wages), hunger for power (expressed in intimidation, manipulation and domination of the masses) and anger (frustration, resentment and bitterness against unfair treatment in terms of labour and job opportunities) are on the increase. This opens the door to more violence, wickedness and lawlessness in society. So, let us humble ourselves once again under the mighty hand of God and beseech Him for mercy and grace for our nation (Heb.4:16). Pray: for people who have been harmed or suffered through injustice; that they will not harbour resentment but allow the Holy Spirit to minister grace and peace to their hearts; that the Holy Spirit will convict people of sin, righteousness and justice (John16:8); for God’s mercy and grace to be upon us as a nation.

Hi, I wondering if you mind saying a prayer covering for me as I am going for a treatment on the 8th of Sep, please pray that the Lord 's hands are upon me and it is effective that I will recover and get well fast.

Thanks so much, Tyra

Please pray by name for the 25 Indian Muslim people groups comprising 100,000 people who have no known gospel witness. Not only have these peoples not heard the gospel, they have no known Christian witness among them. One example is the Kunjra people living in the Indian state of Bihar, which is one of the most caste-conscious states among Sunni Muslims. Religiously, the Sunni caste system (different from the Hindu caste system) not only assigns social status based on birth, it also generally restricts a person to a traditional occupation or role. Consequently, the Kunjra are a lower caste and have historically been fruit and vegetable sellers or farmers. They have not rejected the gospel; they have simply never heard it. Pray for more information to be learned about the Kunjra and the other people on the list. Ask God for committed workers to live among the Kunjra and the other groups and to share the love of Christ with them. Ask the Lord to raise up prayer teams for these peoples. Ask God to lead you in prayer for all the people groups in India.

Pray for the healing of sister A. she has cancer and has two young foster children. Pray for her miracle of healing.

In her book, The Power of A Praying Parent, the author, Stormie O’Martian says, ‘The battle for our children’s lives is waged on our knees. When we don’t pray, it’s like sitting on the sidelines watching our children in a war zone getting shot at from every angle. Whenever you pray for your child, do it as if you are interceding for his or her life – because that’s exactly what you are doing. There is nothing like a parent, especially a father, praying for and with their children.’

An aid worker for Christian relief organisation Samaritan's Purse (SP) was released on 30 August after being held hostage for 105 days in Sudan. Thirty-five year-old Flavia Wagner is exhausted but in good health and is currently in Khartoum. In May, Wagner and a Sudanese driver were abducted after their two-vehicle convoy was stopped by eight armed men 15 miles southwest of Nyala in Sudan's Darfur region. Seven days after the kidnapping, the two Sudanese men were released unharmed and without explanation in Thur, Darfur. Wagner remained in captivity but was allowed to contact her family and SP staff. ‘We thank God that Flavia is safe and free’ commented Franklin Graham, SP president, ‘and appreciate the help of the governments of the Sudan and the United States. People around the world have been praying for her safety and her release. Today, those prayers have been answered.

Every year on September 9th, International FASD Awareness Day is observed. Proclamations are issued in countries, states, provinces, and towns all around the world. Bells are rung at 9:09 a.m. in every time zone from New Zealand to Alaska. People all around the world gather for events to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking during pregnancy and the plight of individuals and families who struggle with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). The first FASD Day was celebrated on 9/9/99. This day was chosen so that on the ninth day of the ninth month of the year, the world will remember that during the nine months of pregnancy a woman should abstain from alcohol. Pray that pregnant women will take heed to warnings that are given to them by doctors and councillors. Pray for the establishment of more support groups in towns and districts where people are prone to abuse alcohol.

Pray for sister D, she is in the hospital and is loosing her eyesight. Pray for Gods miracle of complete healing.

Divine Providence

This weekend we've all remembered 9/11. I'm sure you know where you were the day our nation changed. I can. Each of us have pivotal experiences that change our perspective on life. Such was the case for me on one occasion.

As I boarded the airplane that evening I was really weary. The weekend of ministry had been extra hard for some reason, and I felt a head cold coming on. I dropped into the seat for the ride home and dozed off almost immediately. Somewhere in my subconscious, I was still aware of the takeoff and the plane's smooth sailing through the sky. The flight attendants had already served everyone and dimmed the overhead lights.

I must have been asleep for most of the trip, when the jolt of the plane awoke me. The turbulence was some of the worst I'd ever experienced. My window seat allowed me to look outside, but there was no visibility, only thick, dark clouds. It was quite unsettling as the plane lurched up and down and from side to side. I strained to see the ground but to no avail.

It seemed like an eternity before the captain came on the intercom. His deep, soothing voice was comforting. “This is your captain speaking. Folks, there is no reason to worry; the haze is thick and the turbulence is rather bad, but ground control has us on their radar and they will help us make a safe landing. We will be landing soon.”

Although the plane continued to rock, and it wasn’t a comfortable experience, the control room below could see the big picture. They could land the plane safely. At that moment the Lord reminded me that even though at times the circumstances of our lives become tumultuous and hinder our visibility, the heavenly Father always sees the big picture. Not to worry, He has us on His radar. We often strain to see in the natural something that God is doing only in the spiritual.

Experiences like this have taught me several things. The relationship we maintain with the Father and the atmosphere produced by that relationship are very important. Religious rules and regulations won’t carry us when the going gets rough. We need an intimate and close fellowship with God. Our relationship is found in a deep abiding faith as we rest in the arms of a good and faithful Father.

Secondly, if we expect to be prepared to face life’s trials we must maintain a meaningful relationship with the Father. When the bottom drops out and we are rocked by trauma, there isn’t time to build a trusting relationship with God. At those times we need to rest in the relationship we’ve already developed with Him.

Life can be exceedingly challenging at times. Yet prayer should be our first response to a challenge. In our desperate cry for help with life’s twists and turns, the Lord is drawing us to listen to His voice. This isn’t a step into the dark; it is a step into the light of faith in Him.

This walk of faith insists that we silence our busy and fretful hearts, preparing us to hear God’s voice. Once we hear and obey Him, this is confirmation that the new nature of Christ is at work in us. Now we just need to step out and trust Him. To the degree that we learn the voice of our heavenly Father and desire to understand His ways, to that same degree we will also hear His voice and walk in His ways. Our personality, intelligence or talents have little to do with it.

The next time you find yourself in the haze of life’s turbulence, and there is no clear view, draw close to the heart of God. There you will find peace. He has you on His radar screen and you can trust Him to bring you safely home.
