Prayer Request GPN 09-07-2010

GPN 09-07-2010

“Steadfast determination coupled with faith in Christ can accomplish wonders”. Phil. 4:13. Please hold on to your faith in Christ and you will see wonders happening also in your own situations. Greetings and love, Roberto Wijnhof

Please be in prayer and intercession for my friend, Janice and her family:

They are in a crisis situation that involves her son, Ryan and wife, Jill and their 5 children. Please pray that the perfect will of god will be accomplished in everyone's lives, and that god will make a way where there seems to be no way.

This situation requires a huge miracle of god to set everyone free. Please pray for a peace that passes all understanding for Janice and all involved. They need victory and the promises of god that bring hope to the situation.

Janice is truly exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally drained, and needs for her arms "to be lifted" up by others in prayer!! In his love and care, Helen

Pray for the city of Christchurch in New Zealand that has been recently devastated by a very strong earthquake. The Holy Spirit may comfort them all.

Also pray that the tiny nation of New Zealand that sent missionaries all over the world some 100 years ago but now in complete control of the devil. The younger generation has made drinking and merry making as their God. That Christchurch will again become the real Church of Christ.

There is an immense onslaught on family life. There has probably never been a time in history when marriage and family life have been under such strain. Purposeful, systematic, intelligent and persevering prayer is necessary in this area. It is important that every family pray together. Husband and wife should pray together

regularly, but there should be a certain time each day when the whole family prays together and studies the Bible. Ask God to inspire married couples to pray together. Ask God to help the parents to inspire their whole family to seek God on a regular basis.
THE BRUNEI CONNECTION

For prayer this month we review and summarize a number of key matters mentioned over past months … let us continue in focused and intentional intercessory prayer until we see breakthrough and a fulfilment of God’s Kingdom rule and reign becoming a deep reality in Brunei.

- PRAY for the new families who have relocated to Brunei, not simply taking up overseas job opportunities, but who share our sense of vision for God’s glory and long to see biblical and indigenous communities of faith in Jesus established and growing among Brunei’s unengaged, least-reached, majority people.

- PRAY for the increasing number of local Chinese, Indian and indigenous Christian businessmen who are becoming intentional in blessing the nation through a number of creative projects.

- PRAY for the significant Filipino community in Brunei … the majority of whom are employed in the more low-paying jobs, including working in the Sultan’s palace and for other Brunei Malay employers … to be salt and light, and wonderful reflectors of God’s presence.

- PRAY that the larger Christian Church community in the nation will become increasingly a fountainhead of life and blessing to the whole population.

- PRAY for the salvation of the royal family.

- PRAY for the situation in mission-based schools where the subject of Religious Knowledge is now banned. Pray wisdom for school boards, principals and faculty as they seek creative ways of introducing Bible-based teaching. “To the glory of God - movements of biblical and indigenous communities of faith in Jesus among the unreached Muslim peoples of Brunei, multiplying themselves, and reaching out to other peoples.”

Voice of the Martyrs Canada confirms that on August 21, Islamic militants in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia found Mohamed Ali Garas, a prominent Somali church leader and convert from Islam, and beat him severely.

Five years ago, Garas fled his Somali homeland. VOMC’s Greg Musselman says Garas he sought refuge in Ethiopia because “he was involved in church work there as a pastor. Attempts were made on his life. He’s been threatened, he’s been arrested.”

On the night he was attacked, he was walking home when he heard two men calling his name. He turned to see what they wanted, and they attacked, fleeing only when a neighbour arrived on the scene. Although the beating was severe, Garas survived.

Somali Christians living in Ethiopia have come under increased attacks from Somali Muslims in recent months. That’s a trend that is likely to continue. Musselman says, “When you understand a little bit of the group like al Shabaab... you’re not surprised that they will go to any length. They’re thinking is that ‘the only kind of a Somali Christian is a dead one.’”

International Christian Concern notes that a Somali pastor in the Ethiopian capital has described this latest attack as “an apparent attempt to scar the Somali Christian community in Addis Ababa who considers Ethiopia a safe haven from religious persecution.”

Musselman notes that prayer is a powerful recourse. “Lord, our brothers and sisters in Somalia are such a small group. They’re trying to be faithful. There are other Somalis that have left the country; they’re trying to be faithful, and they continue to suffer attacks, and it’s difficult for them. But we ask You, Lord, to move on the hearts even of the enemies that are persecuting these believers, that they would have the freedom to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Ask God to heal Garas.

- Pray that his attackers will be brought to justice.

- Pray that he and other Somali believers facing persecution in Ethiopia will continue to trust in the Lord to guide and embolden them as they serve Him.

Our Son V. in NZ. is very depressed. Holy Spirit of God, please take control of the situation as we submit that child at thy feet for comfort, mercy, grace and protection.

That the lord should supply me with all the necessary finances to clear off my debts and the necessary funds to start my farming business in my village Chomba. That i shall have many contracts for borehole construction all over Cameroon.

- that the lord almighty should support me and my cousin Derick Mancho to obtain international support and recognition for the summit hills foundation for the blind and that we should be able to raise the necessary funds for the building of the international blind center in Bamenda – Cameroon. That this blind foundation shall receive only favourable and positive answers from the requests we have sent out to both national and international donors.

Bamenda Cameroon.

Injustice had built up and increased over many years in every sphere of our society (government, politics, business, education, etc) in South Africa . The Government alone could not succeed in rectifying this problem in our nation. Human rights and the corruption of our society gave every individual the freedom to do what seems or feels right to him or her. We no longer have a moral system determining our behaviour. The judicial system has become slow and ineffective and because of this, evil is increasing in our nation (Eccl.8:11 - Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed speedily, the heart of the children of man is fully set to do evil.) Greed (bribery, theft, unequal distribution of finances, unfair wages), hunger for power (expressed in intimidation, manipulation and domination of the masses) and anger (frustration, resentment and bitterness against unfair treatment in terms of labour and job opportunities) are on the increase. This opens the door to more violence, wickedness and lawlessness in society. So, let us humble ourselves once again under the mighty hand of God and beseech Him for mercy and grace for our nation (Heb.4:16). Pray: for people who have been harmed or suffered through injustice; that they will not harbour resentment but allow the Holy Spirit to minister grace and peace to their hearts; that the Holy Spirit will convict people of sin, righteousness and justice (John16:8); for God’s mercy and grace to be upon us as a nation.

Hi, I wondering if you mind saying a prayer covering for me as I am going for a treatment on the 8th of Sep, please pray that the Lord 's hands are upon me and it is effective that I will recover and get well fast.

Thanks so much, Tyra

Please pray by name for the 25 Indian Muslim people groups comprising 100,000 people who have no known gospel witness. Not only have these peoples not heard the gospel, they have no known Christian witness among them. One example is the Kunjra people living in the Indian state of Bihar, which is one of the most caste-conscious states among Sunni Muslims. Religiously, the Sunni caste system (different from the Hindu caste system) not only assigns social status based on birth, it also generally restricts a person to a traditional occupation or role. Consequently, the Kunjra are a lower caste and have historically been fruit and vegetable sellers or farmers. They have not rejected the gospel; they have simply never heard it. Pray for more information to be learned about the Kunjra and the other people on the list. Ask God for committed workers to live among the Kunjra and the other groups and to share the love of Christ with them. Ask the Lord to raise up prayer teams for these peoples. Ask God to lead you in prayer for all the people groups in India.
