Indian
women living in isolated rural villages often lack the opportunities to
receive a quality education or practical job training. A Christian
Aid-assisted ministry is opening sewing centers so women can learn a
trade and help support their families. Many of the women are Hindu or
Muslim, and the centers serve as an outreach where they may hear the
gospel for the first time. Currently the ministry needs 50 sewing
machines for classes in two villages. Along with women´s outreach, the
ministry trains missionaries and plants churches as part of its work in
more than 200 villages in India.
