Prayer Request GPN 03-05-2010

GPN 03-05-2010

“Keep your words soft and sweet, for you never know when you will have to eat them.” Prov. 15:1; 25:11. I pray that you will be able to build up many around you by the words that will leave your mouth this weekend.

Greetings – Roberto Wijnhof

It is our prayer that individuals and ministries will join hands as we get together in the capital city, at the Union Buildings on 6 March 2010, as we dedicate our nation and our leaders to God. We need to turn to God for our nation to be healed; hence the theme scripture of the day: 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my Name, will humble themselves, confess their sins, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven and I will heal their land.” Pray that many people will respond to this call for prayer. Pray that each person will have an encounter with God as they seek His face and that it will motivate them to live uprightly before God.

Please pray for my husband gene who was laid off from his job on 11/3/09. It has been 4 months now and he and i both are becoming discouraged. We have been praying for god to open the door for the right job or for some way for him to make a living. God has given him many gifts and talents and he is trying to find a way to use them. Bless you and thank you all for the prayers!!!

When Inspector Roger Bartlett realized his patch had one of the poorest crime detection rates in the area, he decided he needed help. So he asked churchgoers to pool their efforts in calling for back-up - from God. Three years after encouraging Christians from local churches to say prayers to help policemen, detection rates have soared, road accidents have fallen and Mr. Bartlett is convinced it is evidence of divine intervention. The clear-up rate for crimes in his force area of Barnstaple was 26 per cent, one of the lowest in the Devon and Cornwall area. But since he asked for the prayers things have changed. Every quarter, the number of crimes solved has risen, so that at its current figure - more than 40 per cent - it is one of the highest in the country. Thank God for answering the prayers of these people. Pray for the crime rate in your community and trust that God will also intervene in a divine way.

Pray for Qamar David, sentenced to life in prison under Pakistan’s Blasphemy Laws

Last week we asked you to pray for Qamar David, a Pakistani Christian who was on trial for alleged blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed. CSW is sad to report that he was sentenced last Thursday to life imprisonment. The verdict has been described as “biased and prejudiced” by a source close to Qamar.

Thank you for your prayers for the safety of Qamar and his lawyer, Parvez Choudhry – we’re delighted that they were not attacked physically. Please keep praying for Qamar and Parvez, as they plan to appeal and their security is still a concern.

Pray for all the children of our various congregation of Philadelphia churches as well as other children who are giving their school final examination, pray that God will give them wisdom, knowledge and help them in their studies,

Pray for Youth (Boys & Girls) in all Churches, May God give them wisdom & knowledge to walk in his way, Pray that they may live a pure & sanctified life & be a witness in their Community.

Iraqi elections scheduled for March 7, 2010, the first since 2003 “in a fully sovereign Iraq,” are considered critical to the future of the nation. The 2005 elections were boycotted by Sunnis in protest of the Shiite government and Allied presence. There have already been accusations that the 2010 election will be tampered with illegally and some Sunnis are calling for another boycott after 500 candidates were banned because of alleged ties with the Baath Party (Which was Saddam Hussein’s political affiliation). A suicide attack on February 18, 2010 by al-Qaeda is believed to have been an attempt to protest the upcoming election. The bombing killed 11 people and caused some candidates to wonder if the nation is approaching a new civil war. Dozens of suicide bombings have been carried out in Baghdad and throughout Iraq as Allied troops have begun the process of transferring security duties to Iraqi forces. Many of the bombings were against Shiites and most were believed to be the work of al-Qaeda. Ask the Lord to guide Iraq toward the destiny He has planned for it. Pray for His Purpose and will to be done in Iraq as it is in Heaven. Pray for His choices for head of state and in all leadership positions, pray they will serve the nation in humility, without greed, and with integrity. (Dan. 2:21). Pray for peace throughout the election process. Pray against every terrorist plot that is being planned; that it will not work or be put into action.

Please pray for Rachel, she is 17 years old and is suffering of asthma. That she may receive her healing.

The Women’s World Day of Prayer, scheduled for 5 March 2010, is a worldwide movement of Christian women who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year. It will be the 80th year that women in South Africa will participate – humbling themselves before God to pray, with the theme Let everything that has breath praise God. Men are gathering to pray for the world to come to the light of Jesus and will gather on 6 March 2010 at different venues and at different times, the theme in South Africa being The man God uses. Praise God for these initiatives. Pray that men and women would stand before God on these days and seek His face on behalf of the nations.

Your prayers are urgently needed for a Pakistani Christian sentenced to life imprisonment, and Christians still under threat in Nigeria.
