HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE

PLEASE DO NOT DELETE - IT MAY BE A LITTLE LONGER MESSAGE BUT THE BIBLE TEXT HAD TO GO IN (ALSO PASS IT ONTO YOUR FRIENDS AND ASK THEM TO JOIN US - WE ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME. THE FEEDBACK IS GREAT
Ac 17:16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. Ac 17:17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him. Ac 17:18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. Ac 17:19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is? Ac 17:20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
Ac 17:21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to him Ac 17:22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
Ac 17:23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

At that point in time the City of Athen was a city that was rich in many respects. They were advanced in civilisation at that time. The city’s buildings demonstrated a unique and great architecture not parallel to any other city. To be able to speak Greek meant you were notches higher than the average person. The culture of the city was sophisticated to say the least. There were many noted philosopher and artists in Athens. So if one went to this city and viewed it from the outside it had all the trappings of a sophistical modern city rich in culture, in the arts and architecture who boasted of have many wise philosophers.

The Apostle Paul went into this city – but he went deeper and beyond the beautiful buildings and paintings and the Greek culture and language and what does he see. I Acts 17:23 Ac 17:23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

On the surface everything may look good to you about any person – but once you taker a closer – this is what you find – the citizens believed there is a God but He was unknown.
The facades mean nothing if you don’t know GOD – How deep is your LOVE for God a
Blessings
Ronnie
