Gypsy, Domari in Iran
Iranian gypsies
are often not included in official statistics because they have no
permanent place of residence. They may be denied education because they
have no identity card. They die in their single-room shabby houses as a
result of simple diseases because they are deprived of healthcare
facilities. Polygamy is a common practice among Iranian gypsies.
Families decide about their children's marriage, usually without
consulting them. The two families exchange rings and the couple mostly
in their teens start married life after a small party. Thus the marriage
is not registered anywhere and offspring will have no identity card.
Ministry ObstaclesChristians need to overcome any enmity they may feel toward the Gypsies.
Outreach Ideas
The Lord is calling many to himself in Iran. Perhaps Persian Christians will be burdened to carry the good news of Jesus to the Gypsies. Pray they will overcome any hesitation to do this.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There are few if any followers of Jesus among the Domari Gypsies of Iran, but pray for the many gypsies the Lord will soon call to himself. Pray they will desire to live holy lives, being honorable in all their conduct. Pray they will be an excellent testimony for Christ to family and friends.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Gypsies of Iran. Pray they will desire to educate their children, and live honest, productive lives.
Scripture Focus
"Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40 |
