Indigenous
missionaries trek through northern Peru’s varied landscape, bringing
the message of Christ’s salvation as well as clothes, shoes and school
supplies for impoverished children. “Many tribal children cried with joy
when they received their clothes and shoes,” said the director of the
Peru-based New Life Evangelistic Ministry. The ministry also has a radio
station that reaches areas its indigenous missionaries cannot. The
director said one man showed up at their office from a village called
Chapala asking questions about Christianity. “One of our ministry
missionaries talked with him and shared the plan of salvation through
Jesus Christ,” he said. “That day he received Jesus as his personal
Savior. We prayed for him and gave him a Bible.”
