Former President George W. Bush Hospitalized for Heart Stent Procedure
Former
President George W. Bush has been hospitalized after a blockage in an
artery in his heart and has had a stent put in, his office said in a
statement Tuesday
"During President George W.
Bush’s annual physical examination at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas
yesterday, a blockage was discovered in an artery in his heart," the
statement said. "At the recommendation of his doctors, President Bush
agreed to have a stent placed to open the blockage. The procedure was
performed successfully this morning, without complication, at Texas
Health Presbyterian Hospital.
The statement added, "President
Bush is in high spirits, eager to return home tomorrow and resume his
normal schedule on Thursday. He is grateful to the skilled medical
professionals who have cared for him. He thanks his family, friends, and
fellow citizens for their prayers and well wishes. And he encourages us
all to get our regular check-ups." According to reports this is not the
43rd president’s first time in the hospital this year. In January, Bush
quietly underwent back surgery to repair a disc problem.

As the Lord leads, please pray:
- For the quick and complete recovery of President Bush and his return to normal routines.
- For the health and well-being of our living
past-presidents: Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and
for the health of President Barack Obama.
