Haiti Quake Victims Need Our Help

Haiti Quake Victims Need Our Help

Charlottesville, VA - January 13, 2010 - Indigenous Christian ministries in Haiti can be helped through gifts sent to Christian Aid Mission. Emergency gifts to help them rebuild the lives of earthquake victims can be made online immediately at www.ChristianAid.org or by calling 1-800-977-5650. Contributions should be designated Haiti Disaster, code number 120DIS.

Haitian officials estimate that 100,000 may have been killed in the monster quake that hit the island Tuesday. The death toll is climbing by the hour in the wake of the magnitude 7.0 quake that tore through the capital of Port-au-Prince. The trembler and aftershocks are the most powerful in 240 years and affect 1.8 million people who live in the immediate area of the epicenter.

Christian Aid Mission has been assisting native missionary efforts in Haiti since 1970. As in most such disasters, medical help for the injured comes first, then long term efforts to rebuild homes, churches, Christian orphanages and schools as well as native missionary training centers.

Christian Aid Mission is a member of the Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability. Contributions are tax-deductible and used 100% as designated. Emergency gifts may be mailed to Post Office Box 9037, Charlottesville, VA 22906.
