Give Our Little Brothers and Sisters the Gift of Joy
After seeing a room filled with VOM Christmas Care Packs, 6-year-old Abua was overwhelmed with joy. “May God reward you with every good thing!” she said in her native language.
Abua was one of more than 3,000 children in northern Nigeria who received VOM Christmas Care Packs this year. Her pack included school supplies, a T-shirt, soap, pencils, a toothbrush, noodles, milk and an animated story book about Jesus.
Christmas Care Packs were the perfect gift for these children, many of whom have experienced the horrors of Boko Haram attacks. The gifts showed Abua and the other children that they are loved.

This year, VOM is preparing for its largest Christmas Care Pack distribution since the outreach began, more than 20 years ago. Children from many nations, including children of Iraqi families that have been exiled at the hands of ISIS, will receive Christmas Care Packs in this year’s distribution.
Christmas Care Packs are assembled with donations from VOM supporters, using hand-picked items purchased in the region where they are distributed. VOM workers distribute the packs throughout the year in many of the more than 60 countries where we work.
The joy on each child’s face as he or she opens a Christmas Care Pack is priceless.
