Romani, Sinte, Kazakhstani of Kazakhstan Originally from India, the Gypsies are now scattered throughout the world. "Gypsy" is the general English term used; however, in their homeland of India they were originally called Dom, meaning man. Their communities are largely closed to outsiders.
