Hannelie’s Family Gave Everything to Serve Jesus

Shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, Hannelie and her family were called to serve God in Afghanistan. Leaving good jobs and comfortable lives behind in South Africa, they took their two young children and responded to the call. Hannelie and her family served the Afghan people for 11 years, understanding that their lives could end violently on any given day. They continued their work, even as friends, colleagues and other Christians were kidnapped and killed. In November 2014, terrorists attacked their home, killing Hannelie’s husband and children while she was at work. Hannelie may not know why she was spared, but two years later she knows she is still called to serve God.
