Tibetan, Jone in China
Jone county in Gansu province is the home of most of
these people, and they have their own language and ethnic identity.
Their name is sometimes spelled "Choni". The existence of these people
has not been well-known. Jone was the site of an independent kingdom
until 1928, when a Chinese general confiscated the land of the Jone
prince.Ministry Obstacles The identity of the Jone is tied to Tibetan Buddhism, making it especially difficult to embrace a different worldview. Outreach Ideas Han Chinese believers may be able to carry the Gospel message to the Jone. Pray that some be given a heart for this mission. Pray for the followers of Christ There are a few Christian believers among the Jone. Pray they will grow to become mature in the Lord, and will be faithful witnesses to their family and friends. Pray for the entire people group Pray these Buddhist people will be given the knowledge of sin, and will increasingly know the need for the forgiveness found through faith in the completed work of Christ on the cross. Scripture Focus "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats." Matthew 25:32 |
