Eat, Pray, Love
Poor children in remote, jungle areas of western Burma (Myanmar)
enjoy a meal at a Christmas event where Jesus is proclaimed. In a
country where the government gives special status to Buddhism, Christmas
provides an opportunity to share Christ in a non-threatening
environment, the director of an indigenous ministry said. "Buddhists
think of it as a usual celebration, so they didn't have any trouble with
it," he said. "So many people want to know who Jesus is and why
Christmas is celebrated, so many people's hearts are very, very open."
The ministry also seeks assistance for its year-long outreaches —
large-gathering evangelistic events, Jesus Film screening and children's
ministries, among other means — to villages where Christ is unknown.
