Rajput (Hindu traditions) in India
The name Rajput is derived from the Sanskrit word
rajputra, meaning son of a ruler. The Rajputra constitutes a class of
nobility. The Rajput clans emerged as a dominant community in north and
western India in the colonial period. The economic data suggests that
the majority of Rajput are landowners. A large number of communities
have migrated to their present habitat and this has made them one of the
most mobile groups.Ministry Obstacles
High caste communities find it especially difficult to humble themselves enough to accept God's free gift.
Outreach Ideas
Sustained prayer and dedicated workers are needed.
Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the small group of Christian believers among the Hindu Rajput, that they will be united in love around the truth of Scripture. Pray they live a life of love, just as Christ loved them and gave himself up for them.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Rajput community to increasingly grow in awareness of Jesus, his life and his sacrifice for them. Pray the Lord will give them a hunger to know, then satisfy that hunger.
Scripture Focus
"Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples. For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised." 1 Chronicles 16:24-25
