Tuareg, Tamajaq in Niger
The Tuareg are nomadic people and the principal
inhabitants of the Saharan interior of North Africa, and are descended
from the Berbers. For over two millennia, the Tuareg operated the
trans-Saharan caravan trade connecting the great cities on the southern
edge of the Sahara.Ministry Obstacles The Tuareg live in areas that may be difficult for Christian workers to enter, and to remain for any length of time. Outreach Ideas It may be feasible for traveling teams to take the Jesus film, God's Story video, and Gospel recordings to these people. Stories from Scripture can often powerfully communicate vital truths. Pray for the followers of Christ Pray for the few believers among the Tuareg, that they may be strengthened in the faith, rooted and established in love, and may become a Godly influence on those around them. Pray for the entire people group Pray for improved living conditions for the Tuareg, for better educational opportunities for their children, and for improved employment opportunities. Scripture Focus "Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession." Psalm 2:8 |
