Leading The Way’s KINGDOM SAT broadcasts transforming Muslim world
By Peter Wooding, European Bureau Chief for the ASSIST News Service
HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, UK (ANS – March 31, 2016) -- In the midst of the turmoil and chaos engulfing the Middle East, Leading The Way
is celebrating the fact that for the past seven years, its KINGDOM SAT
broadcasts have been reaching into hundreds of millions of homes in the
region, bringing hope and transformation.
“This
international outreach was birthed out of a vision God gave me for a
24/7 satellite television channel offering sound Biblical teaching to
the Muslim world -- reaching the lost and equipping believers,” explains
Leading The Way’s Founder and President Dr. Michael Youssef.
THE
KINGDOM SAT began in March 2009 and is now broadcasting the Gospel 24
hours a day, seven days a week in English, Arabic, French, and now
Indonesian. This channel is reaching six continents of the world with
Biblical encouragement — including the largest Muslim nation in the
world, Indonesia, and audiences in closed countries like Saudi Arabia
and Libya.
To
accommodate the high volume of viewer responses, Leading The Way is
utilizing on-the-ground follow-up teams in 14 locations to evangelize
and disciple those who reach out to them through Skype, Facebook,
Twitter, YouTube, text, mail, and phone. These teams had close to 90,000
follow-up conversations last year alone and play a vital role in
growing the underground church.
Daily their follow-up teams are seeing remarkable testimonies like Farouk*, from Iraq.
He
writes: “I read the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah and how Jesus was
led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil and how
he answered. And yet, I was so confused; could Jesus be the Lord?
Later, while surfing the Internet, I found THE KINGDOM SAT website I
watched Dr. Michael Youssef’s programs and heard the Truth again and
again. I was astonished by God’s love. I accepted Christ as my Savior.
“I
need your help to connect me with other believers in Iraq to help me
grow in faith. Thank you so much, Pastor Michael Youssef, for your love
and for this huge ministry.”
Another
viewer in Morocco wrote: “I was a radical Muslim and I believed in
jihad and killing anyone who does not follow the laws of Islam. Four
months ago, after watching THE KINGDOM SAT, I started comparing Islam
with Christianity and found that there to be a lot of contradictions
between the Hadith (the prophets’ teaching) and the Qur’an. I studied
the Bible online. I wanted to tell you that I have decided to follow
Jesus.”
Dr
Youssef concluded: “This unique, growing ministry allows us to be the
‘hands and feet’ of Jesus to the Muslim world. Everything we do is meant
to boldly proclaim the Truth to those who are searching.
“Twenty-four
hours a day, seven days a week, God is leading souls out of the
darkness and into the light of Christ through this channel.”
As
the rise of Islamic terrorism, including the recent attacks in
Brussels, stirs up disillusionment within the Muslim community, the
sound Biblical teaching and conversational feel of THE KINGDOM SAT is
engaging an increasingly skeptical world with the Gospel.
