God’s Word Helps Them Face Severe Opposition
Persecutors understand that Christian children are the future of the faith. That’s why Christian children in Muslim nations are often forced to memorize parts of the Quran and those in communist countries are pressured to learn about atheism. We know they need to learn about Jesus. “I was amazed when I was given the bag, which had a Bible,” 14-year-old Timothy, from Kenya, wrote in his thank-you letter to The Voice of the Martyrs. Timothy recently received a copy of The Action Bible, which he said has easy-to-understand sentences and colorful pictures that helped make the Bible “more interesting and fast to read.” For families like Timothy’s, which face persecution because of their Christian faith, God’s Word is as important to the children as it is to the parents. That’s why more than a quarter of a million children’s Bibles were included among the 1.2 million Bibles VOM distributed last year in hostile areas and restricted nations.
It is essential to equip the next generation of believers who are growing up under persecution. God’s Word will prepare and strengthen them to stand firm in their faith throughout their lives.
