Outreached Hands

Indigenous missionaries work to cheer needy children with distribution of food and clothing, part of an evangelistic outreach in a village in central Zimbabwe. At another site in Domboshawa, 19 miles north of Harare, Thy Kingdom Come Ministries (TKCM) workers feed children who have lost their parents to AIDS, among others – when funds are available. “We feed about 300 orphans when we get help – these children have one meal a day, sometimes two, depending on help they receive,” said TKCM Director Bernard Martin. “Last time we could not feed the children because of lack of funds. Our prayer is for the Lord to raise up a sponsor who will help feed the children this year. Most of them live with their grandparents, who are 60 to 85 years in age, because they have parents with the AIDS virus. The grandparents struggle to even get a piece of soap. They struggle for medication.” Children also need assistance with school fees of $35 per term, he added.
