Uzbek, Southern in Afghanistan

Uzbek, Southern in Afghanistan
Uzbeks come from a predominantly Sunni Muslim background, usually of the Hanafi school, but variations exist. The majority of Uzbeks from the former USSR came to practice religion with a more liberal interpretation due to the official Soviet policy of atheism, while Uzbeks in Afghanistan and other countries to the south have remained more conservative adherents of Islam. The Uzbeks are descended to a large degree from Turk-Mongol invaders.
Ministry Obstacles
The misunderstanding about who Jesus is, and what He has accomplished on our behalf, must be overcome.
Outreach Ideas
Healthy relationships are very important. Christians should seek to befriend the Uzbeks in numerous ways.
Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the believers among the Uzbek, that they will grow in faith and in knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, and live holy lives. Pray they will put off falsehood and speak truthfully to one another.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray the Uzbeks will increasingly see Isa (Jesus) as the anointed Son of God, and will hunger to find out more about this man.
Scripture Focus
"All nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord, they will bring glory to your name." Psalm 86:9
