Bearing Up

A refugee in Turkey lugs life-saving firewood to her tent. An indigenous ministry in Turkey was able to purchase and provide firewood to Syrian and other refugees near Adana thanks to donations from supporters of Christian Aid Mission. “It has actually heated up the hearts of the refugees here and encouraged them so much,” the director of an indigenous ministry in Turkey said, adding that now refugees need not resort to burning toxic plastics. Many refugees are calling the ministry because their infants and elderly are sick due to lack of nutrition. “They’re in need of vitamins, which are too expensive,” he said. “We have used your generous donations to provide what we can of medicine and vitamins, and we thank you.” Need continues for these items and baby formula, as well as for blankets, oil, rice, flour and other foods, which the indigenous ministry can purchase locally. “Please continue to pray with me that I will have the necessary items to keep them fed, to keep the babies fed, and to keep their heating arrangements more healthy with wood,” the director said. “Pray with me that they see the love coming from our Lord Jesus through us and find peace in a relationship with Him. You are indeed the help behind this ministry.”
