Zhuang, Zuojiang of Vietnam The Zhuang are the largest minority group in China, linguistically separated into 16 Zhuang language groups. Those speaking the Zuojiang Zhuang language are mostly located in SE China, but a sizable group resides in extreme NE Vietnam. They are typically engaged in agriculture, and are known as "people of the soil". A newly married woman stays with her parents until after the birth of the first child. Only then does she go to live with her husband in his village. The Zhuang are careful not to offend the spirit world that surrounds them. They believe in the spirits of the water, forest, mountain, village, etc. Ministry Obstacles No scripture has been reported to have been translated into the Zuojiang Zhuang language. In fact, only one of the 16 Zhuang languages is reported to have scripture portions available. Outreach Ideas Perhaps the Lord will lead some of the millions of Han Chinese believers to take the Gospel of Christ to the Zhuang, not only in China but reaching into Vietnam as well.
