A White Afrikaner Doctor Stuns Audience When He Apologizes To Black Doctors of Africa for the Racism of His People in South Africa

Dr. Frans J. Cronje made his request for forgiveness during a medical conference in Nairobi, Kenya By Dan Wooding Founder of ASSIST Ministries NAIROBI, KENYA (ANS) -- Dr. Frans J. Cronje, a white Afrikaner doctor stunned an audience in Nairobi, Kenya, recently when, during a keynote session at a Christian medical conference, he apologized to the hundreds of black doctors for the racism of his people in South Africa. Dr. Frans J. Cronje making his apology during the WCDN conference Speaking on the topic of "Spiritual Roots of Disease", Dr. Cronje said, "I was born in London. I have a British birth certificate. I also have a Dutch, French, and German ancestral heritage. And, I am an Afrikaner. So, I represent the African colonial empires and a white South African male. I am a symbol of generational racism.generational iniquity... "We have all had to learn that racism is contrary to God's word - that is sin - and I have had to learn to think differently. We have behaved contrary to what we know God's Word says - that is transgression -- and I have had to repent before God for my disobedience. "Indeed, I also want to repent to you, today: I repent for the way my ancestors and I have oppressed you out of greed and have dishonored you out of fear... But I also need to overcome the stain of this generational iniquity by demonstrating that I want to change; that I want to become my brother's keeper again; and that I have had a change of heart. Another picture of Dr. Frans J. Cronje "Therefore, I would like to deposit something into Africa today that may help to restore the health and dignity our generational iniquity has stolen from you... That is how you overcome iniquity. That is how love covers a multitude of sins - it does so by demonstrating a desire to represent God's nature again." He went on to say, "Unfortunately, this is not the way we minister on issues of health. As a result, we complain that God does not answer our prayers and we continue relying only on the methods of man to overcome our persistent violations of His instruction, His laws, and His sovereignty. We need to change and to show that we want to!" Some 500 doctors, scientists and medical professionals from 37 countries came to the Kenyan capital of Nairobi for the 9th International Christian Medical Conference held May 25-26, 2012, to explore whether miracles still happen today and, if they do, to provide medical data to prove them. After making his request for forgiveness; Dr. Cronje received thunderous applause from the attendees for his brave statement. One doctor from the Democratic Republic of Congo told me, "It was very courageous of Dr. Cronje to make this apology to us and, of course, we accept it. After all, as followers of Jesus Christ, we are commanded to forgive. He is the first Afrikaner that I have heard make a statement like this, and it is deeply appreciated by all of us from the continent of Africa." Dr. Cronje is a medical doctor who specializes in diving, hyperbaric and aerospace medicine, and received both his medical degree and a Master's of Science degree in Aerospace Medicine from the University of Pretoria cum laude in 1991 and 1997 respectively. He completed the full medical licensing exams to practice medicine in the United States and subsequently completed a clinical Fellowship in Diving, Hyperbaric and Underwater Medicine at Duke University, Durham, NC, USA in 2003. He is considered the pioneer of modern hyperbaric oxygen therapy in Southern Africa and has dedicated 17 years of his professional career to introduce and expand this scientific, therapeutic modality in South Africa. African doctors praying during the conference Dr. Cronje also went on to say, "This brings me to an important understanding: all unrighteousness is not biologically equal. 'All fall short of the glory of God' and, yes, 'the wages of sin is death'. So the eternal consequences are indeed the same. However they are not the same biologically: stealing your pen is not the same as murdering you even though both actions are unrighteous. "God himself makes the distinction in Exodus 34:6-7: Here He declares His own nature and says that He forgives iniquity, transgression and sin. Jesus uses this same distinction when He says that the thief comes but to steal to kill and to destroy. Please do not leave here today without getting this from my message: sin represents ignorance of God's principles. It robs you of God's blessings and reduces your quality-of-life. "The first example of this progression in Scripture comes from the life of Cain. He displays ignorance by bringing the fruit of his own labors as a sacrifice to God instead of the shed blood of lambs - our works do not atone for our sins; we have to follow God's instructions. His sacrifice is rejected, but God instructs him, tells him not to sulk, encourages him to do what is right, and warns him not to entertain anger because sin is lurking at his door. "God covers his sin. However, Cain disobeys this instruction, goes into the field and murders his brother in a deliberate violation of God's instruction. So transgression reduces life itself and leads to premature death. I encourage you to explore the Scriptures and you will find this consistently: transgression leads to death. There is another level, though: After murdering his brother, Cain is confronted by God who asks him where his brother is. Cain responds by saying: 'am I my brother's keeper'. The very meaning of brother in Hebrew is a 'strong fence' or 'strong keeper'. So in this simple statement Cain is challenging God's right as sovereign lawmaker. Dan Wooding with some of the Maasai dancers who performed during the WCDN conference "This is iniquity; the point where we determine right and wrong for ourselves rather than accepting God's absolutes. At the end of this initial confrontation, Cain expresses these profound words: my iniquity is more than I can lift off. The English translation is misleading. It reads 'my punishment is more than I can bear'. This is not about punishment primarily; this is about the consequence of violating God's sovereignty. It is Cain's iniquity that brings on a generational effect. Cain is now marked". He added, "In an effort to limit the damage, he is instructed by God not to concentrate in cities. However, he disobeys this instruction again and it leads ultimately to the destruction of the entire World except for eight people! Iniquity destroys. Steal, kill, destroy.Iniquity is also transferred from generation to generation until someone is willing to take it on. It is the basis of inherited sin, inherited mental illness, and inherited the biological disease. Like Cain, this is the point where people have the greatest problem with their understanding of God. "They interpret their suffering as punishment and accuse God of His lack of mercy. What they fail to realize, is that God is actually expressing His greatest mercy in that He does not destroy the person who became twisted immediately. Rather, God's appreciation of life is so great, and his willingness to demonstrate patience towards us is so vast, that He allows the person to live, to see the impact of his iniquity, in the hope that Ezekiel 18 will be fulfilled: That a father will look at his son and cry out: 'God what must I do'. Or a son will look at his father and say: 'I want to change'. This is the point where the restoration that comes by God's own sacrifice - through His Son's atoning death - can be appropriated. "Yes, Jesus died for our sins, but we must appropriate the fullness thereof by becoming willing to learn God's ways; by repenting of our disobedience; and by showing our change of heart as we choose to manifest His love." Dr. Cronje also said, "With few exceptions, the Bible attributes sickness to sin. However, with the discovery of microorganisms four centuries ago, the emphasis gradually shifted towards a more material and biological understanding of the cause of disease. "Today there is nearly a complete dissociation between the original Biblical understanding of man and the modern practice of medicine and psychiatry. Yet, for all the advances of science, nearly 70% of the population of most Western countries are on chronic medication whereas 40% have a mental health diagnosis; elsewhere, poverty and disease abound. Our modern biological and chemical approaches are not solving our present health problems. "Evidence from psycho-neuro-immuno-endocrinology (PNIE), epigenetic research and functional medicine all suggest that 75 to 85% of chronic and incurable disease have associated emotional root causes. These root causes are strikingly similar to those first described in Genesis 3 - fear, guilt and shame." In his presentation, the doctor offered a practical framework in which the links between spiritual roots and biological problems may be reconciled and understood from both a Scriptural and a scientific perspective. "The ultimate goal is the pursuit of wholeness and sanctification of spirit, soul and body," he added. Note: In South Africa, an Afrikaner minority party, the National Party, came to power in 1948 and enacted a series of segregationist laws favoring whites known as Apartheid (literally "apartness"). These laws allowed the systematic persecution of opposition leaders and attempted to enforce general white supremacy by classifying all South African inhabitants into racial groups. Non-white political participation was outlawed, black citizenship revoked, and the entire public sphere, including education, residential areas, medical care and common areas such as public transportation, beaches and sidewalks, was segregated. Apartheid was officially ended in 1990 after significant internal resistance and a long embargo against South Africa. The factual end to apartheid, however, is widely regarded as the election of 1994. After a long series of negotiations between President Frederik Willem de Klerk and Nelson Mandela, a democratic, multi-racial election was held, transitioning power from the National Party to the black African National Congress. Attendees wave farewell at the end of the medical gathering Dr. David Nico, PhD, CWC, from the United States was another speaker and he presented a "Deliverance Case Study - Demon Possession." The doctor described himself as a "Healthpreneur & Wellness Expert," and is an educator, researcher, and spokesperson for DR. Some Afghan Parliament Members Embrace Christianity

By Jeremy Reynalds
Senior Correspondent for ASSIST News Service

AFGHANISTAN (ANS) -- Afghanistan, a country long suffering from civil wars, has not experienced peace for many years. Ongoing bombings by fundamentalist Muslims have stolen peace from the lives of Afghanis.

However, according to a story by Mohabat Christian News Agency, the country has recently seen signs of change.

Mohabat News said, "Informed Afghan authorities acknowledge that Christianity has obtained a special place not only among youth, but also among various layers in society. (In addition), house churches are growing tremendously."

Mohabat News said an independent Shi'ite website in Iran has quoted a knowledgeable Afghan official as saying, "There is evidence of widespread Christian propaganda in Afghanistan, and the existence of more than ten churches that operate secretly in residential houses have been proven."

Mohabat News said negative media reports have been published about in American soldiers and organizations providing humanitarian aid in Afghanistan. The objective, Mohabat News says, has been an attempt to persuade Afghan rulers and politicians that the objective of the aid is really to spread the Christian gospel.

At the same time, Mohabat News said, human rights advocacy groups are concerned that reducing the power of the U.S. in Afghanistan will result in the growth of religious based violations and Islamic persecution of religious minorities, especially Christians.

On the other hand, Mohabat News said, new reports indicate that the Christian faith is spreading among Afghanistan's movers and shakers. Some members of the country's parliament have embraced Christianity.

Mohabat News said, "This clearly indicates that a reform is taking place in Afghanis' zealous and traditional beliefs."

Mohabat News said, "Farsi News Service of AghanTelex, also published a report on the conversion of some members of the Afghani Parliament to Christianity and wrote, 'Evangelism and Christian propaganda is taking place in the country at a high level, but this is the first time that those who call themselves representatives of the Afghani people not only have become 'apostates,' but have joined Christian ministries to evangelize. This time they want to present their Christian services to Muslim people through parliament.'"

Pray for Banjara, Muslim of India

Banjara, Muslim of India
The Banjara were traditionally a nomadic community, but today they more commonly are settled and work in agricultural production. They believe that they were originally Hindu and were forcibly converted to Islam. They are non-vegetarians who eat beef. The Muslim Banjara have twelve clans. They maintain cordial relations with neighboring communities and share water sources with them. They belong to the Sunni sect of Islam.

Ministry Obstacles
To follow Jesus is to risk upsetting community harmony, and to risk losing family and friends.

Outreach Ideas
Christian workers need to build bridges of friendship and trust with the Banjara. Genuinely caring for material and physical needs is a big step in this direction.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are probably no present followers of Jesus among the Muslim Banjara community, but pray for those the Lord will soon call to Himself. Pray they will have nothing to do with the deeds of darkness, living as children of light. Pray for materials to help them grow properly, such as recorded or written Scripture, and Gospel films.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Banjara community to be able to adequately care for their families, and for widows, orphans, and elderly people to have the care and protection needed.

Scripture Focus

pRAY FOR Kluet of Indonesia

Kluet of Indonesia
The Kluet area of Aceh province is very fertile, and most Kluet make their living from farming. They have a strong sense of ethnic identity, and, therefore, they do not spread out very far from each other. They find it difficult to mix with other people groups, and as a result, their culture is rather closed to outsiders. Most Kluet are followers of Islam. However, traditional animistic beliefs have not totally disappeared and often have significant impact. Many are afraid of supernatural ghosts. Magic talismans are used so that evil spirits will not hurt them.

Ministry Obstacles
The Kluet people live in Aceh province, a region of strong resistance to the good news of Jesus Christ.

Outreach Ideas
Christians need to find ways to help the Kluet people with their medical needs and help them improve their farming methods, as well as share the love of Christ as opportunity offers itself.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the few followers of Jesus among the Kluet people, and the additional believers that will soon join them. Pray they will not waver in their faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross. Pray they in all things will grow up into Him who is the Head, Christ.

Pray for the entire people group
This people group does not place much value on education. Modern agricultural tools and methods would help keep the Kluet from feeling left behind and threatened by the newcomers moving to their homeland. Medical assistance is strongly needed.

Scripture Focus
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance." Psalm 33:12

Pray for Ad Dharmi of India

Ad Dharmi of India
The Ad Dharmi's primary occupation is tanning hides, and some are also engaged in leatherwork and related industries. There are no restrictions on their accepting or exchanging water and food from and with the neighboring communities. They visit the same religious places, share common sources of water and also take part in festivals along with other communities. Their literacy rate, according to the 1981 census, was 40 per cent.

Ministry Obstacles
A low literacy rate can hinder the coming of the Gospel if it comes only in written form.

Outreach Ideas
The Ad Dharmi need to hear the Gospel in oral forms and in written forms. Gospel films and recordings may be very helpful.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There may be no followers of Jesus among the Ad Dharmi community at present, but pray for those the Lord will soon lead to Himself. Pray they will understand fully the way of salvation, and be zealous to know and follow the Lord.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Ad Dharmi community to be able to care adequately for their families, and be able to send their children to school.

Pray for Tai Dam, Black Tai of Vietnam

Tai Dam, Black Tai of Vietnam
The Tai groups of Vietnam are only distantly related to the Tai people of Thailand. The Black Tai, primarily of Thailand, also live in northern Vietnam. They originated in southern China, but gradually migrated to southeast Asia. They are one of the few Tai groups never to have embraced Buddhism, but are animists. They believe that non-human objects have spirits, and that people have multiple souls.

Ministry Obstacles
The animistic worldview of these people presents an obstacle to understanding the God of Scripture and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

Outreach Ideas
Chinese and Vietnamese believers may be able to disciple the existing Black Tai believers, equipping them to reach their own people.

Pray for the followers of Christ
There are a few believers among the Black Tai. Pray they will live holy lifestyles, united around Truth.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Black Tai to have their eyes opened to the presence of their creator God, who loves them and sent his Son to die for them.

Scripture Focus
"I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations - Be exalted above the heavens, O God; Let Your glory be above all the earth." Psalm 57:9-11

Lampung Peminggir of Indonesia

Lampung Peminggir of Indonesia
One of the key principles of the Lampung Peminggir is that of Pi-il Pesenggiri, which means, "guarding one's dignity above all else." They usually live a simple life, yet they love to receive honor or praise. They typically do not hesitate to spend huge sums on ritual celebrations. The Lampung Peminggir are followers of Sunni Shafi'i Islam.

Ministry Obstacles
The good news of grace found in the finished work of Jesus Christ is difficult for these people to comprehend and accept.

Outreach Ideas
Scriptures, the Jesus film, and Gospel recordings are available in the language of these people. Pray for workers.

Pray for the followers of Christ
Pray for the believers among this people group, that they will know that it is by grace they have been saved, not of works that they may not boast.

Pray for the entire people group
Pray for the Gospel to soon be made available to each individual in this community, in their own language, and in a manner they can understand and believe.

Scripture Focus
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." Matthew 9:37-38

We Won! Oh, Really??

We Won! Oh, Really??
By Eddie Smith
© Copyright 2010, Eddie Smith

One church beats out another, and thinks it has won!

Many pastors can't explain why their churches are spiritually and numerically stagnant. They repaint, retop the parking lot, manicure the lawns, redecorate the nursery. They promote, advertise and produce new programs. But nothing seems to work.

Of course there can be any number of, or even a combination of things that can contribute to this. One, however, is rarely mentioned. "What," You ask?

"A spiritually polluted atmosphere."

"Huh?"

In our recently upgraded and enlarged best selling book, Spiritual Housecleaning, we explain. In our chapter entitled, Spiritual Church Cleaning, we offer several reasons the spiritual atmosphere of a church's building can become polluted. The Holy Spirit is grieved and withdraws and the enemy infiltrates. You'll be surprised at the possibilities.

So, the reason some guests don't return to a perfectly wonderful church is quite subconscious. They may not even be able to explain it. Because of past events, the door has been opened to darkness and the atmosphere is polluted. Until leadership discovers the pillar event that opened the door and repents (as Nehemiah did) for the past misuses and mistakes of previous leaders, darkness is legal right to remain.

This is quite serious. What follows is a story from that chapter.

We had just stepped of the plane and were met by the missionary who would be our host for the next several days. He was an American missionary in this major world class city.

On the way to his house he explained how expensive property was and how fortunate they were to have their place of worship. “Where do you meet?” we asked.

“We meet in the (he named the building). It’s an ideal worship facility. And we almost missed it. You see another church had it rented on Sunday mornings. So, they offered us Friday nights. But I did some investigative work and found out how much the other church was paying. I offered the owner more money, and he immediately bumped them to Friday night and gave us ‘prime time’ on Sunday morning. Amazing, isn’t it?”

After a few minutes of driving I said, “Pastor, what do we have planned for tonight?”

“Nothing at all--you can rest. Why?”

“We’d like to attend church.”

“Church--what church?” he asked puzzled.

“The church that meets on Friday night,” I explained.

“Why on earth would you want to attend that church?” he asked.

“Pastor, we’d like to attend that church to give you the opportunity to repent to them for taking their worship time. For if you think we are going to stay in your country and minister in your church with this sin hanging over your head, you are sadly mistaken. We’ll catch the next plane home.”

Needless to say he was shocked, and convicted. After a few moments of thoughtful deliberation he humbly agreed.

That night after we went in and sat down I was able to get the pastor’s attention and said, “Pastor, my name is Eddie. I’m from the United States. I have with me the pastor of the church that meets in this facility on Sunday mornings. He is the one who took your Sunday morning worship time from you. He would like to repent publicly to you and your people for doing that. Would you allow us 2-3 minutes of your time tonight?”

He graciously agreed. And when the time came, he introduced me. I introduced my host pastor. He stood before the people and sincerely repented to them with tears for the ‘backhanded’ way he had treated them. When he finished, I asked, “People, will you forgive pastor for what he has done to you.” They did.

What should you expect?

You should expect a supernatural response. In the case of these two churches with different denominational doctrines, members of both congregations began to meet together in city parks together for picnics.
They merged some of their ministries and the pastors preached in each other’s pulpits in the months that followed. And, over the next two years, both churches tripled in size!

Bob Ford get Healed

Dear Intercessor,
This is a praise report from Bob Ford. We prayed for his right eye to be healed a few days ago and here is Bob's report of a miracle of healing, along with medical pictures to prove it. THANK YOU, JESUS!

Robert Fitts

Brother Bob:
Thanks for your prayers,Bob and Joni, and for alerting the prayer team concerning my eye. I want to thank each and every one that prayed for me, may God bless you 1000 times over again. Also, thanks for all the emails with your encouraging words and Scriptures, I have been comforted and encouraged immensely.

I will give you all the details so you can send it to all who prayed and believed along with us.
Tuesday AM my right eye was blurry and I couldn't read even the largest letter on the eye doctors chart.
Wednesday I could see gradual improvement as the day went on, and at about 4:00PM I could read words with my left eye closed.
Thursday AM it was even better yet, and I went to the eye surgeon in Seattle. I told the attendant about the improvement and she checked my vision using the same chart used on Tuesday, and I could read every letter (with my right eye) to the degree of 20-20 vision. PTL! The surgeon came in and I told him everything and he ordered another picture of my eye. He came in with picture in hand and said, "I don't know what to tell you. This just doesn't happen. The swelling has gone down drastically and there is no need to do any surgery. We will check you again in a few weeks."
Glory to God! The Throne is occupied by God alone, with the precious blood of Jesus on the altar, and the attacks of Satan have been cast down to the pit and we have the victory as children of God, all in the mighty name of Jesus!!
I have attached the pictures and do hope that you have a color printer so to see the difference. The picture dated 1/19/2010 has a box in the upper left corner with a smaller box within it. In that small box you will see a large white spot, this was the problem area. Notice that the same box in the picture dated 1/21/2010 has no white spot in it. This means that God's healing power removed 90 + percent of the fluid and swelling, the remainder WILL be removed soon, PTL!

In His love and service,

Bob Ford
